The general situation of Foshan universities is as follows:
1. Foshan Institute of Science and Technology, formerly known as Foshan University, was founded in 1958. It is a national master's degree awarding unit, a key construction high-level university of science and engineering in Guangdong Province and Foshan City, a pilot institution of "Hundred Schools Project" in China according to the data of the Ministry of Education, and a doctoral degree awarding project construction unit. It was selected into the new engineering research and practice project of the Ministry of Education (excellent engineer education and training plan 2.0), the national innovation and entrepreneurship training plan for college students, the second batch of innovation and entrepreneurship education demonstration schools in Guangdong Province, and the post-doctoral innovation and practice base in Guangdong Province.
2. Established in 2002, Guangdong Neusoft College is located in Shishan University Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. Approved by the Ministry of Education, it is jointly invested by Neusoft Holdings and Yida Group. It is a full-time undergraduate college. The schools are Guangdong Model Software College, Guangdong Model School of Governing Schools by Law, and National Skilled Talents Training Base. 3. Shunde Vocational and Technical College was established in March, 1999. It is a local higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education, managed by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, jointly built by provinces and cities, and invested by Shunde District Government. After years of construction and development, the school has become a national model (backbone) vocational college, a model vocational college in Guangdong Province, and a first-class vocational college construction unit in Guangdong Province. The college was formed by the merger of the former Foshan Coalfield Staff Geology College and Foshan Electromechanical School. 5. Guangdong Vocational and Technical College was established at 1984, located at No.20, Shi Lan Second Road, Chancheng District, Foshan City, Guangdong Province. It is a full-time general higher vocational college organized by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and the administrative department is the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. It is an energy-saving demonstration unit of colleges and universities in Guangdong Province and a provincial environmental education base. The college covers an area of about 450 mu with a teaching area of about 54,000 square meters, including a teaching building, an administrative building and two training buildings.
