What does perceptual intelligence include?
Perceptual intelligence includes vision, hearing, touch and other perceptual abilities. Both humans and animals have the ability to interact with nature through various intelligent perception abilities. Self-driving cars realize such perceptual intelligence through sensing devices such as laser radar and artificial intelligence algorithms. Machines have an advantage over humans in perceiving the world.

Humans are passively aware, but machines can actively perceive, such as lidar, microwave radar and infrared radar. Whether it is a perceptual robot like a big dog or a self-driving car, because of making full use of the achievements of DNN and big data, machines are getting closer and closer to humans in terms of perceptual intelligence.

Introduction to perceptual intelligence:

Perceptual intelligence refers to mapping the signals of the physical world to the digital world through hardware devices such as cameras, microphones or other sensors with the help of cutting-edge technologies such as voice recognition and image recognition, and then further upgrading these digital information to a cognitive level, such as memory, understanding, planning and decision-making. In this process, the interaction between man-machine interface is very important.

Some researchers believe that the development of artificial intelligence is mainly divided into three levels, namely operational intelligence, perceptual intelligence and cognitive intelligence. The so-called operational intelligence refers to the ability of a computer to calculate and remember quickly. The so-called perceptual intelligence refers to the ability to obtain information through various sensors. The so-called cognitive intelligence refers to the ability of machines to understand and reason.
