In the press conference before the exhibition, Professor Lin Baiting, son of Mr. Lin Yushan and former vice president of the Palace Museum, paid a special visit. He said that the paintings donated to the Gome Pavilion this time are rare and rarely displayed in public in the past. It is hoped that through these works, accompanied by sketches and manuscripts, visitors can better understand the creative process and imprint of teacher Lin Yushan and increase the content and popularity of the exhibition.
Huang Cailang, director of Gome Pavilion, said that the development process of Mr. Lin Yushan's life painting art creation reflected several stages of Taiwan's historical and cultural transformation. From the study of traditional folk painting in China, Japanese painting and Song painting, to the accommodation and transformation of ink painting in the Central Plains, he not only opened up a new art, but also established his own artistic style. At the same time, he actively engaged in art education, which had a great influence and contribution to the promotion of painting in Taiwan Province Province. In order to show respect for Mr. Lin Yushan, the Gome Pavilion was specially held the day before the 325 Art Festival. At the same time, in order to show its attention to the contemporary painting art in Taiwan Province Province, the theme of this exhibition is "The Passing of Models", hoping that this artistic mode of painting aesthetics in Taiwan Province Province can be continuously passed down in the new generation.
Mr. Lin Yushan pays attention to the real environment, scenery and people around him in his creation, and depicts his own world with realistic observation, sketching and warm colors. His works can be regarded as the representative of this style of painting. Throughout his life, he advocated natural sketching. In his view, sketch is an indispensable step in learning painting and the basis of painting. The purpose of sketching is not to be neat and realistic, but to write about its ecology and life and gain its charm. Master Lin Yushan vividly grasped the characteristics of the scenery in Taiwan Province Province through sketching, and his typical style has far-reaching influence, which can be seen from this exhibition.
Mr. Lin Yushan won the Cultural Painting Award of the Ministry of Education, the Special Contribution Award of the National Literature and Art Award and the Cultural Award of the Executive Yuan all his life, and held numerous solo exhibitions and joint exhibitions. He is a painter with a special position in the art history of Taiwan Province Province. Gome Pavilion will display 46 pastels and ink paintings and 25 sketches. I hope that through the presentation and interpretation of this rich work, people can fully appreciate Lin Yushan's broad painting road and unremitting life course in his 70-year creative career. The exhibition "Model Transfer-Special Exhibition of Lin Yushan's Painting Art" lasts from March 24th to July 1.
