She was not good at math when she was a child until she met a good teacher. She took the initiative to go to the headmaster and asked herself to have an Olympic math class with the boys. There has never been a female Olympic athlete in Iran, but the principal is also a woman. She said, maybe you can really be the first one.
She later won two international Olympic gold medals in high school.
Her field of work is modular form and hyperbolic geometry, which is a branch that occupies the core position of mathematics. She is one of the most important experts in this field. Her husband is a computer scientist and has a very young daughter at home. She was diagnosed with cancer four years ago, but not long ago, she and her colleagues wrote a paper of more than 200 pages, which proved an important and difficult theorem. She died at the most creative age.
Why is this a positive story?
Because she can proudly say that in a chaotic world, what she is fighting for is indisputable and meaningful to all mankind. She won the unanimous respect of everyone, including her own troubled motherland. (Although the local newspaper published a photo of her winning the Fields Medal, the editor had to wear a headscarf on it, because the Iranian media were not allowed to publish photos of women without headscarves in public. )
She deserves to live longer, but sometimes that's all you can ask of fate.
She left a word to the world:
? ? ? ?
As long as you are patient, a child can always see the beauty of mathematics. )
