Music theory, solfeggio as a professional term "musicology", I think it is necessary to explain it here to avoid confusion in the direction of the college entrance examination.

Musicology, as a general term for theoretical research on music art, is generally divided into three categories in the west, namely: systematic musicology, such as acoustic physics, music physiology, music aesthetics, music sociology, music pedagogy and various music technology theories, such as composition, harmony, polyphony, orchestration, etc. Historical musicology is to study the development process and law of music history in chronological order. Ethnomusicology, or comparative musicology, mainly refers to the systematic comparative study of different national music. In the west, it refers to the comparative study of national music outside Europe. There are two directions for musicology major in colleges and universities. One is to study the theoretical direction and the content of the college entrance examination [see 1, (1)]; The other is synonymous with music education. 1998, after the reform of the professional name of music enrollment in colleges and universities, musicology replaced music education, making the curriculum of colleges and universities broader, but the content of college entrance examination [see 1, (3)] has not changed. To be exact, music education is a branch of musicology. How to distinguish the direction of musicology major depends on the content of college enrollment.

After three years of professional training and study, most of the above majors can meet the requirements of the college music examination, such as musicology (theory), composition and composition technology theory, music education, music literature, midi composition, music therapy, art management and other majors. Some of them have higher requirements for candidates, such as music performances, which require students to have a good image while mastering professional skills.

Here, the author only combs the universality of the college entrance examination for music majors. Different music colleges have different contents and requirements for enrolling majors, so learners should adjust their learning direction according to the actual situation.
