Graduate student of international economic law
I studied in the UK for a year as a graduate student in international economic law, and now I have got a master's degree in international economic law (Merit). It is more suitable to answer this question.

First of all, I don't know which country the topic is going to. My answer is limited to my experience in England.

International economic law covers a wide range, mainly including WTO trade rules, international freight rules (sales law, transportation and insurance), international commercial arbitration rules and so on. The starting point of international economic law practice is very high, which is beyond the reach of general law firms. Basically, it is the business of large international law firms and large consulting service companies (of course, you can also do import and export trade, so why go to law school? Join the mixed army of China people in business school). Because it is an international business and a lawyer (consultant), if the subject wants to engage in this industry, English must be excellent.

As for whether the exam is good or not, it is basically enough for the admissions secretary of a British university to look at your tutor's recommendation letter, four-year university transcripts and personal statements. There is no question of whether to take the exam or not (unless it is a language exam). The entrance line for English in Oxford University Law School is IELTS 7.5, and other reliable students are also 6.5-7, among which writing and speaking have the minimum required scores.

As the only China graduate student in our law school, I suggest you learn your language well. For example, there are 3-4 classes a day, and the last 1-2 class must be seminar. The list of books given by the professor should be discussed one by one (such as case analysis), and the professor will also evaluate the final score of the subject according to our classroom performance. Poor oral English, unable to speak a thousand words, will be beaten to death by classmates and questioned by professors. . But if your spoken English is good, even if you are talking nonsense except the key points, you will usually get high marks in writing short articles at the end of the term (I personally testify hahaha). It is because the first semester was lucky and the grades were not good enough that the average scores in the last three semesters were a little worse. I didn't get an honorary degree and my scholarship was ruined. So much for the language.

The employment prospect depends on you personally. I just graduated at the end of last year and stayed in England for a long time. I just came back to take this year's national judicial examination. My career plan is to qualify as a lawyer in China first, and my goal is the trade consulting industry in China. First of all, I think it's a pity that I didn't become a lawyer in China after studying law school for so many years, for fear of wasting my undergraduate time. Secondly, I want to combine my personal ability. I am the kind of person who is relatively watery in theory. Can I pass the exam this time? If not, go to work. . . This model of mine is for reference only. If you are trapped, don't come back to me. Thank you. .

Take my tutor as an example. A Frenchman, who was originally a lawyer in international economic law affairs, later commented in into the pit that this business is international commercial arbitration, which is very professional and needs predecessors to lead future generations, but he feels that he has done a good job. Personally, I have always liked international commercial arbitration since I was an undergraduate, and the entry threshold is low. Because it is not perfect, many interesting problems are worth studying. Miss this old man with a red nose.

Finally, the employment prospects are all independent development. I wish you find an organization soon!
