Anyone who abides by the Constitution and laws of People's Republic of China (PRC), abides by professional ethics, and has a certain level of foreign language, regardless of age, education or academic background, can sign up for the corresponding language and level examination. Foreigners and professionals from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who are allowed to work in People's Republic of China (PRC) and meet the requirements of the Interim Provisions on Translation Professional Qualification (Level) Examination with the consent of the relevant state departments may also sign up for the translation professional qualification (level) examination and apply for registration.

Second, matters needing attention:

The translation professional qualification (level) certificate shall be registered regularly, once every three years. Before the expiration of the validity period, the holder shall go through the formalities of re-registration at the designated institution as required. Re-registration requires proof of continuing education or business training.

At present, there is only one English language translation test in the national foreign language translation certificate examination, which contains six certificates, which are divided into two categories: translation and interpretation, and each category contains three grades, namely: primary translation certificate, intermediate translation certificate and advanced translation certificate; Primary interpretation certificate, intermediate interpretation certificate and advanced interpretation certificate.
