Main practical teaching links: including experiment, teaching practice, production practice, curriculum design, graduation thesis (design) and so on. 30 ~ 35 weeks is usually arranged.
Main courses: engineering drawing, engineering mechanics, mechanical design and manufacturing foundation, electrician and electronic technology, wood science, adhesives and coatings, thermal engineering, wood drying, wood cutting principles and tools, wood-based panel technology, furniture design and manufacturing, introduction to materials science, aesthetic foundation, architectural design foundation, modeling principle, wood products production technology, wood-based panel surface decoration technology, computer-aided design, etc.
Students in this major mainly study wood physical chemistry, electrical and electronic technology, mechanical foundation and plastic arts. I have been trained in the basic theory and knowledge of design art, wood science and processing technology in drawing, wood and its products performance testing, wood drying, wood-based panels, wood products and furniture design and manufacturing, and have the basic ability of production technology, process flow and equipment selection and management in wood processing and interior decoration engineering.

Graduates can engage in wood processing, furniture design and manufacturing, engineering design, technological process and equipment management, new product development, management and timber trade in enterprises, design institutes and scientific research institutes in the fields of wood industry (including wood-based panels), biomass composite materials, furniture manufacturing, interior decoration engineering, economy and trade.
Knowledge and ability
1. Have a solid knowledge of basic theories such as mathematics, physics and chemistry;
2. Master the basic theory and knowledge of wood science and engineering and design art;
3. Master the analysis method and application technology of wood physical and chemical properties, and master the methods of furniture design, plastic arts design and interior design;
4. Have the basic abilities of wood drying, wood manufacturing, wood products and furniture production, wood-based panel production, performance testing of wood and its products, and interior design;
5 familiar with China's forestry, wood processing industry, environmental protection principles, policies and regulations;
6. Understand the theoretical frontier, application prospect and development trend of wood science and processing technology at home and abroad;
7. Master the basic methods of literature retrieval and information query, and have certain scientific research and practical work ability;
