1, anxiety: mainly nervous anxiety, which has certain directionality and has an impact on personal life, work and social functions; Patients may have many discomforts, including headache, dizziness, nausea, belching, acid reflux, etc.
2, depression: physical discomfort is less than anxiety patients, mainly manifested as depression, patients are not interested in many things, easy to lose sleep, low self-evaluation, serious.
The difference between the two is not particularly obvious.
First of all, the pathogenesis of anxiety and depression is very similar.
Secondly, 70% of the symptoms of anxiety and depression are similar, anxiety and depression often appear together, and about 30%-90% of anxiety disorders are accompanied by depression. At the same time, more depression is accompanied by anxiety, so it is difficult to distinguish anxiety from depression.
But through long-term clinical observation, the following points can help us distinguish anxiety from depression:
1. After the patient comes, he may have anxiety and depression at the same time. We should communicate with him well and find out the fundamental problem in his heart. The core symptom of anxiety patients is inner anxiety. He is always worried that something bad will happen, and some worry that he can't find the reason. When you talk to a depressed person repeatedly, you will find that the core problem in his heart is sadness, that is, depression and negative thinking, which are the core manifestations of anxiety and depression and the main difference;
2. Anxiety and depression are also different in onset age. Anxiety patients are mostly over 35 years old, while depression patients can appear in all ages, such as children, adolescents, adolescence, middle age and old age, which is obviously different from anxiety;
3. Anxiety. His previous interests and hobbies remain unchanged. People with depression often lose their previous hobbies, such as people who used to like singing. He doesn't want to sing when he is depressed. Patients who like singing can still keep their hobbies if they have anxiety.
4. Depression and anxiety, their sleep disorders are different. The classic performance of sleep disorder in patients with depression is waking up early and unable to fall asleep again after waking up early, which is a feature of sleep disorder in depression. The sleep disorder of anxiety patients is characterized by difficulty in falling asleep. Once a patient successfully falls asleep, he can stay awake until dawn, which is another difference between anxiety and depression.
5. There is another obvious difference between anxiety patients and depression patients. For patients with depression, he does not shy away from social problems. For patients with depression, we think that he has a decline in will and behavior. He doesn't want to associate with others, but he is not afraid of association. For anxiety patients, he is afraid to associate with others and be different from depression in public.
From the above points, we can distinguish anxiety and depression, but in most cases, anxiety and depression are combined. In view of this situation, we can diagnose anxiety and depression syndrome, and another principle is the principle of depression. If we find a patient with symptoms of depression and anxiety at the same time, we give priority to diagnose him as depression.
