The dog's uterine empyema has a long period, and it is difficult for the owner to find it at the early stage of the disease. There are many reasons for purulent uterus in dogs. The main reason of dystocia is that the bitch is overnourished during pregnancy and the fetus is abnormal. During childbirth, due to too many fetuses, some fetuses are too large, and uterine muscles continue to contract, so that fetuses cannot enter the birth canal and stay in the uterus, forming uterine empyema. And a bitch who never gave birth. So how to diagnose whether dogs have this disease? What are the clinical symptoms?
First, how to diagnose
1. Diagnosis of closed pyometra
Abdominal palpation showed that the uterine horn and uterine body were obviously thickened, sometimes cystic, fluctuating obviously, and there was a certain pain response. The vulva changes are not obvious and clean, and it is easy to draw out thin pus when puncturing the uterus.
2. Diagnosis of open uterine empyema
When palpating the uterus, the uterine horn is thick and the wall is thick, the sense of fluctuation is not obvious, the pain response is obvious, the vulva is polluted by pus, it smells bad, and the vulva is red and swollen. Only a small amount of pus can be extracted when puncturing the uterus. After general anesthesia, press the abdomen and more pus will be discharged from the vulva.
