China's exports to Laos mainly include motorcycles, textiles, automobiles and chassis, high-tech products, wires and cables, communication equipment, electrical and electronic products, etc. China mainly imports sawn timber and natural rubber from Laos. China Company started to invest and set up factories in Laos on 1990, and the investment fields involved hydropower, mineral development, service trade, building materials, planting and breeding, pharmaceutical production, etc. China Company also actively participated in Laos' labor and engineering contracting, accounting for 1/4 of Laos' contracted engineering market. The projects aided by China for Laos include terrestrial satellite TV receiving station, Nanguohe hydropower station and power transmission and transformation project, Lao National Culture Palace, Luang Prabang Hospital, and 1/3 section of Kunming Highway in Laos.
