What if the first line of an English paper is indented by 5 characters?
Because a space only takes up half a character in English, the characters indented in the first line are operated separately in the text group.

The first line is indented by 5 characters, as shown below:

1. Position the text insertion point in the paragraph to be adjusted, click the right mouse button, and select the "Paragraph" command in the pop-up shortcut menu.

2. In the special format drop-down list box of the opened paragraph dialog box, select the option of "Indent the first line" and enter "2.5 characters" in the value box on the right.

3. Click the OK button again.

4. Just copy the format directly from other paragraphs with the format brush.
