In today's market economy era of pursuing personal value, people's commodity attributes are becoming more and more prominent, and it is understandable that individuals flow to places with high prices. People go up, all the same. But now the phenomenon that the frequency of college students' job-hopping has soared has aroused our concern and thinking-what is this?
First of all, let's analyze the employment situation of contemporary college students in China. College students generally believe that it is difficult to find a job that satisfies them. Most enterprises think that the social needs of college students in China are not too much, but too little! The problem of difficult employment is only in the mind, in the concept, in our way of thinking and employment consciousness. So, is it not difficult to get a job? With this problem, we interviewed job seekers and some business leaders in Dongguan talent market by filling out questionnaires and structured interviews. Through analysis and thinking, we find that the reason why college students find it difficult to find a job is that they have fallen into the following three misunderstandings:
One of the misunderstandings: "The higher the education, the better to find a job."
College students think that it is difficult to find a job because their academic qualifications are too low. With the idea that "the higher the education, the better to find a job", it has become an ideal choice for many college students to take the postgraduate entrance examination first and then find a job.
Many students in our college take postgraduate entrance examination as their goal, hoping to find a better job in the future. This is a choice, but not everyone can realize their dreams. There are always people who have to find jobs again because they can't pass the exam, and even if they pass the exam, they will face the pressure and competition of employment in the future. Enterprises may not recruit masters and doctors as clerks with high salaries, but it may be enough to recruit secondary school students. Enterprises should also be profitable, open source and reduce expenditure. "Enterprises will not choose the best employees, but they will definitely choose the most suitable ones." This is what all the interviewed leaders said when we went to Dongguan, Guangdong for investigation.
Myth 2: "The more skills, the more certificates, the easier it is to find a job."
Many college students think that the more skills and certificates they learn, the easier it is to find a job, so they blindly participate in various training courses. For example, driving training, English proficiency training, computer technology training, various certification training and so on.
Nowadays, it is not easy to find a job. Learning one more skill will increase your job-hunting weight, which is the mentality of many students. There is no harm in participating in these trainings, but these are basic skills, which are not targeted and practical, and are not attractive to enterprises. Enterprises pay more attention to students' knowledge structure, ideas, thinking habits, basic quality training, personal quality, hard-working spirit and professional quality, including work experience and skills. Therefore, blindly participating in various training courses sometimes not only does not play a real role, but may also have a bad impact on learning.
Myth 3: "The market supply exceeds demand"
The primary reason why it is difficult for college students to find jobs is that the job market is oversupplied. "School enrollment expansion" has become the "culprit" of the decline in the quality of university education and the difficulty in employment. Many college students have these thoughts in their minds that the talent market is seriously oversupply, but this is not the case. Like a good cream cake, developed cities and regions are like flowers on the cake, and everyone wants to eat that flower. Many college students look for jobs, regardless of their own strength and needs, and blindly run to a good unit with a lot of talents. As a result, some markets are seriously saturated with talents, and some markets are in urgent need of talents. In fact, the demand for talents in society is still very high. In particular, small and medium-sized private enterprises generally have the phenomenon of low talent quality and unreasonable talent structure, which urgently needs a large number of college students to join.
So the problem now is that many graduates' wishes and social needs are in a state of dislocation. On the one hand, many small and medium-sized enterprises and institutions, many grass-roots first-line units, have many jobs that should have been filled by college graduates, but college students have high expectations and are unwilling to go; On the other hand, there is still a big gap between the quality and ability of some graduates and the requirements of society, and it is actually very difficult for some units to find ideal graduates.
It should be affirmed that the current employment market for college students is by no means oversupply, but "both supply and demand are booming". It should be admitted that if graduates are willing to choose jobs according to social needs, the employment situation of college students will not be as difficult as we feel now. In my opinion, apart from poor physical condition, every graduate should actually be able to find his own position, which is most in line with the objective reality of the job market for college students. On the third day of our arrival in Dongguan, General Fan of Dayan Electronics Co., Ltd. gave us an analysis of the current employment difficulties of college students. He said: "many college students' small companies don't go, they don't have a basic salary and they don't do jobs that require performance commission;" Start your own business. The entrepreneurial spirit you need is a rare quality of China students, and private enterprises are despised by many people. State-owned enterprises have lost their attraction and absorption for talents; Foreign companies-although many people yearn for foreign companies, they don't have the required quality and culture, so there is no way. "
Teacher Fan also said: "For every job seeker, they hope that they can find a job that can give full play to their strengths and pay a high salary. However, in the actual job-hunting process, it is really difficult to kill two birds with one stone. There are of course many reasons for this, but there is a very important reason: college students should correct their mentality, re-brainwash after entering the society from school, and everything should start from the grassroots. " General Fan also said: "There is still a common phenomenon in college students' job hunting: they are ambitious, but they are too ambitious to do great things and refuse to do small things. College students are picky when choosing jobs. In the end, nothing was done. Therefore, before choosing a job, job seekers should actually combine their professional expertise with the needs of employers and choose a job after comparison. "
2. In-depth and comprehensive analysis of the reasons for college students' job hopping:
1. Why did college students resign?
College students frequently change jobs or are preparing to change jobs before they have a correct attitude, have not obtained too many certificates and persist in finding jobs. Why? What are the reasons that lead to employee job-hopping? Through the investigation, it is found that the motivation of job-hopping is very simple, which is nothing more than to rush to a better position, pay, pursue greater development space or join a new employer because of the mismatch of majors. The specific proportion is shown in the left picture: these are the keys to job hopping. In particular, "dissatisfaction with salary" and "insufficient development space" have been problems for many years. In this survey, it is found that the most important thing for enterprises in Dongguan is whether employees have work experience. On the one hand, most enterprises require college graduates to have work experience (at least internship experience). On the other hand, enterprises do not provide internship opportunities for college graduates. "No work experience is the biggest obstacle to employment." Under the guidance of this idea, in order to increase my work experience, I will give up my study time at school to ensure the practice of off-campus work. Students became cheap labor during the holidays. Many enterprises pay special attention to work experience when recruiting, and students are turned away. Where can college students get work experience just after graduation? Who can provide students with opportunities to accumulate work experience? Obviously this is a contradiction. So college students use their holidays to work in enterprises or even practice for free to accumulate work experience, and some even delay their study time.
However, there is a problem that cannot be ignored, that is, many college students regard work experience as work experience. I think if you join many companies and do a lot of work, you can say which companies you have worked in when looking for a job, hoping to leave an impression of your rich work experience. I don't know that enterprises don't need this kind of talents who change jobs frequently, because all you have is work experience rather than work experience, because what you learn from frequent job-hopping is only superficial and unrealistic. It's like digging a well If you dig for a while and change places, you will never dig water. Frequent and blind job-hopping is not helpful to the development of yourself and the enterprise.
Some employers set restrictions just to reduce recruitment workload and save costs, requiring CET-6, work experience and even driver's license. Maybe you don't need these at all in your actual work. The purpose of the unit is simple: there are too many people submitting resumes, and by raising the restrictions, some people will be squeezed out directly to reduce the workload. This will reduce unnecessary waste for the whole society. Even if the workload is heavy, many ordinary people can do it. And it is not necessarily worse than experienced people or college students, but how does the recruiting unit know that someone will do a good job? It is unknown not to try. But obviously, the recruiting unit can't let everyone do it. There is no better way to identify talents. By setting discriminatory restrictions such as academic qualifications, region and work experience, the selection cost of the unit can be effectively reduced. As far as this part of the facts are concerned, it is the purpose of the recruitment unit to select people. This is beneficial to the overall interests of society.
2. Disadvantages of job hopping
It can't be said that the reasons for job-hopping are all caused by personal factors, and corporate factors and social factors also account for a certain proportion. However, adapting to the needs of society can only be a personal factor. Before re-employment, carefully choose a job, browse the website of the other company through the internet, and get a general understanding of some information of the other company. At the same time, be familiar with the position you are applying for and the requirements of this position. For college students, too many job-hopping will not only waste their accumulated contacts and resources, but also choose not to use them because of fear. Frequent job-hopping makes the image of college students worse in the eyes of employers, and even affects their future job hunting. Therefore, college students who have finally got a job should use this action with caution.
Employee turnover has both positive and negative effects on enterprises. Although old employees quit and new employees join, fresh blood brings new vitality to the enterprise; But the negative effects are also obvious, especially the mobility of managers does more harm than good. Mainly manifested in: employees' psychological instability, lack of confidence in the enterprise, undermining the cohesion and centripetal force of the enterprise; The service quality declines and the production efficiency is low; Customer churn and trade secret leakage; Replacement and increased training costs.
3. What kind of enterprises can reduce job-hopping?
A well-developed enterprise will try its best to retain employees and reduce employee turnover. For example; Guangdong Dongguan Pinxiang Plastic Products Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Pinxiang) aims at selecting, employing, educating and retaining people. Talent is the foundation of enterprise survival and the greatest value of enterprise. Some enterprises can advance by leaps and bounds in the process and flourish forever. It is his perfect personnel ladder and sufficient reserve talent pool. Moreover, this company has a perfect salary system, welfare benefits and development space. Combine spiritual incentives with economic incentives, implement system management and emotional management, so that employees have a strong sense of belonging. College students may wish to consider such enterprises when choosing employment.
Three. Personal opinions and suggestions:
This social practice, through face-to-face communication between business leaders and job seekers in the talent market, has a lot of feelings. I think in order to reduce the job-hopping rate and let more college students find more suitable jobs, in addition to their own efforts, the school can also give us some targeted help, such as:
1. Improve college students' work ability and accumulate work experience;
The school has reached certain agreements with some enterprises, and students can use weekends and winter and summer vacations to choose units for study and practice according to their own needs without affecting their studies. You can also work and study while exercising yourself.
2. Offering more psychological counseling courses:
Nowadays, there are all kinds of psychological problems among college students. School leaders can carry out some psychological counseling courses regularly or irregularly according to the situation and needs reflected by students to help them establish a good attitude, correct morality and self-confidence.
3. Career design and planning:
Many people and books emphasize that college students should find their own position. So, what is positioning and how should it be positioned? The essence of education lies in the renewal of ideas. With the correct concept, specialty is actually just a technical problem. On the other hand, if there are mistakes in the guiding ideology, such as letting a person who is born with a tone-deaf pursue becoming a musician, it is impossible to succeed in any case. Of course, this example is a bit absolute. In fact, many people don't realize it when they study, and it's too late to find their own mistakes. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out the course of career planning and design for college students. Help students choose a career that suits them and find their place in the vast sea of people. Because a person is only an individual in society and has limitations. Only by finding a suitable occupation and position can we achieve something.
As contemporary college students, we should be aware of our own shortcomings and rise to change our destiny. Have you noticed that Qian Fan is on the side of the sunken ship and Wan Muchun is in front of the diseased tree? Even today, it is said that it is difficult for college students to find jobs, how many outstanding young people have abandoned yesterday's troubles, grasped tomorrow's opportunities, found their own life development channels, and obtained their own position of hard work.
In Pinxiang, we heard the story of "a snail". One day, the little snail saw butterflies flying in the sky and was envious. He asked his mother, "Mom, why can butterflies fly without heavy shells?" Mom said; "Because they have blue sky protection." Another time, the little snail saw the earthworm crawling around in the field at will and asked his mother, "Mom, the earthworm can crawl around in the field without carrying a heavy shell." Why? " Mother said, "Because they have the protection of the land." Snail, we don't rely on the sky, we don't rely on the ground, we rely on ourselves! "Yes, we don't rely on the sky or the ground, we rely on ourselves!
