The College of Life Sciences has three full-time undergraduate majors: biological science (normal), biological science (non-normal) and biotechnology (non-normal). Enroll 120 students every year, and the three majors enroll students in a unified way. Students choose their major at the end of the fourth semester. In February, 20001year, our college established a degree program with Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry to jointly train graduate students. In July, 2002, Beijing Education Commission approved the establishment of "Life Science Talents Training and Industry-University-Research Base". In July, 2003, our college, Yangzhen No.1 Middle School and Niulanshan No.1 Middle School jointly established Beijing Wetland Environmental Education Base and Beijing Wetland School. In 2003, our college began to train graduate students jointly with Duke University and Oregon University. After years of joint education and base construction, our college has shown a good situation of positive and vigorous development. In order to strengthen the cultivation of students' ability to integrate theory with practice, the College of Life Sciences has initially established a "2.5+ 1.5" undergraduate training mode, making full use of the advantages of scientific research units and high-tech enterprises in Beijing. After the end of basic courses, they will concentrate on 1-2 semester to participate in scientific research or management (practice) work of these units and write graduation thesis.

The College of Life Sciences has long attached importance to scientific research, which has promoted the construction of disciplines and degree programs. Established two research institutes (genetics and bioengineering, ecology); 4 key disciplines, including 1 municipal key discipline (botany); Three key disciplines (genetics, cell biology, microbiology); 2 1 1 key construction disciplines 1 (genetics and bioengineering); 1 school-level key laboratory; 1 Post-Doctoral Research Center (biology); 2 doctoral programs (botany and genetics); There are seven master's degree programs (botany, genetics, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, ecology, microbiology and curriculum and teaching theory). Nearly 100 master's and doctoral students are enrolled every year.

The College of Life Sciences has a strong faculty, with 72 faculty members (50 teaching and research staff), including academicians 1 person (invited), distinguished professor 1 person, professors1person and 27 associate professors. Among them, 26 have doctorates and 7 are pursuing doctorates. The college has 3 young academic leaders in Beijing, 2 new scientific and technological stars in Beijing, 3 key teachers in universities funded by the Ministry of Education, and 2 cross-century young academic leaders at the school level. He is in charge of 2 national outstanding youth funds (including B-type project 1), key projects of National Natural Science Foundation 1, more than 0 projects of National Natural Science Foundation1,special transgenic projects of Ministry of Science and Technology, 863 and 973 (sub-projects), key projects of Beijing Natural Science Foundation and other multi-level scientific research projects.

There are 7 undergraduate basic laboratories and 2 professional laboratories in our hospital. The total area of the laboratory and research room is 3000 square meters. Has more than 2000 pieces of various instruments and equipment, with a total value of more than 30 million yuan.

Reasonable equipment configuration and efficient management system provide a powerful technical support system for scientific research. We have made a systematic and perfect equipment configuration from three levels: nucleic acid, protein and cell. At present, there are many kinds of low-temperature high-speed centrifuges, protein chromatography systems, capillary electrophoresis instruments, high-performance liquid chromatography, protein omics analysis systems (electrophoresis, enzymolysis, mass spectrometry systems, etc. ), various spectrophotometers (ultraviolet, fluorescence, etc. ), various advanced microscopes (fluorescence, interference, phase difference, etc. ), laser focusing microscope and micromanipulator. There are also supporting facilities such as clean culture room, light temperature control culture room and isotope room.
