Click New, and optional templates will appear. The templates in keynote are all free, and most of them are in Apple's minimalist style, which I personally think is better.

Choose one you like, and then click it. However, I want to remind you that in general, try to choose a white background or a light background. If it is black, it requires high ambient light, and the actual display effect may not be as good as that on the ipad screen.
