With the pain of losing their parents, elena gilbert and his younger brother Jeremy started a new semester. Elena is very popular among her classmates and a model student, but she can't recover from her grief. My younger brother Jeremy chose drugs as a dangerous means to ease his inner sadness. The arrival of new classmate Stefan Salvatore made Elena see the possibility of regaining romance.

Elena gilbert and Jeremy Gilbert recently lost their parents and became orphans. Now they live with their aunt Jenna in Mystic Falls, Virginia. Elena poured out her heart in the diary of the cemetery and played with her good friends bonnie bennett and caroline forbes to adapt to the different life after losing her parents. Instead, his younger brother Jeremy chose to use drugs to escape and anesthetize himself. He pursues Vicky Donovan wholeheartedly, and Vicky prefers Taylor Lockwood.

Stefan Salvatore has just come to town to live with his uncle Zach, who keeps telling him not to get into trouble. Stefan is a vampire, but he is determined to live in harmony with human beings. He gradually fell in love with Elena, because she looks exactly like his 1864 girlfriend Catherine.

Stefan's brother Damon came to town and didn't take it seriously that Stefan stopped drinking human blood. He attacked Vicky in the Woods and had a big fight with Stefan.

Stefan and Elena like each other and try to establish a formal relationship, while Damon is eyeing Elena's friend Caroline.

At the end of this episode, Stefan comes to Elena's door and is invited into the house.

Night of the Comet

Mystic Falls began to prepare to celebrate the passing of the comet. Vicky who was attacked by Damon is still in the hospital. Stefan sneaked into the hospital to erase Vicky's memory of the attacker with his super powers, but was interrupted by Vicky's brother Matt. History teacher Tanner asked Aunt Jenna out, blamed her for being a bad parent, and reminded Aunt Jenna to take care of Jeremy. Elena and Damon first met in Salvatore's home, and Damon's disclosure of Stefan's past brought Elena closer to the truth. Caroline became Damon's next victim.

Stefan and Elena use diaries to record their feelings for each other. In history class, their mutual gaze was broken by the teacher's question.

Matt told Elena about Wikipedia in detail and said that their mother was still on vacation with her boyfriend in Virginia Beach and didn't come home. Vicky said a vampire attacked her, but Matt thought she was drunk and out of her mind. He also tried to ask Elena about her relationship with the new boy, but Elena deliberately avoided it. Stefan overheard their conversation in the distance, but when Elena turned to look for him, Stefan suddenly disappeared.

Tanner, a history teacher, called Aunt Jenna to school and scolded her for not taking good care of her niece and nephew, saying that Jeremy was using psychotropic drugs to soothe the pain of losing his parents.

Meanwhile, Stefan quietly followed Matt to the hospital to find Vicky, trying to change her mind and make her think that some kind of animal, not a vampire, attacked her. When Matt returned to the ward, he found Vicky still sleeping, but he noticed Stefan sneaking into the hall. Stefan hid in the infusion room and disappeared before Matt found him.

Jenna wants to talk to Jeremy, but he won't listen. Instead, she went to the hospital to see Vicki. At this time, she changed her mind and told Matt that an animal had attacked her.

Elena ran to Stefan's mossy mansion and knocked on the door, but no one answered. The door was open, so she pushed it in. A crow flew towards her and Damon appeared from behind her. Stefan arrived in time to stop Damon from revealing more about himself, and then he acted as if he hardly knew Elena.

Vicky finally got out of the hospital, and Jeremy went to pick her up. Damon takes Vicki from the bathroom of the mysterious barbecue restaurant where she works to the roof, and forces her to believe that Stefan attacked her that night by controlling her mind.

Elena saw Jenna rummaging around Jeremy's room and encouraged her to have confidence that she would be a competent parent. Elena came to Stefan and said what they would say to the diary, and finally the two of them struck a spark! Jeremy had to watch Vicky return to Taylor's arms. Damon and Caroline are closely linked. His eyes are bloodshot and his face has prominent blood vessels. This episode ends with Caroline screaming.

Get something to eat on Friday night

Bonnie reminded Elena of her foreboding when she touched Stefan. Taylor tried to humiliate Stefan, but it backfired. Stefan caught the football in time and threw it back hard, surpassing everyone. Elena invited Stefan and Bonnie to have dinner at home to improve Bonnie's opinion of Stefan, but Damon and Caroline didn't invite them.

Stefan joined the school football team, and Taylor was very upset and deliberately screwed him. But Matt didn't like Taylor trying to hurt Stefan on the court, and the latter two fought for it.

Elena quit cheerleading. Elena invited Stefan and Bonnie to have dinner at home to improve Bonnie's opinion of Stefan, but Damon and Caroline didn't invite them. Stefan tried to stop Elena from letting Damon in, but she insisted on inviting him in.

Elena dreamed that she was in the bedroom with Stefan, but when she turned around, Stefan became Damon. Later, after a ball game, Stefan gave Elena an amulet that could invalidate Damon's charm. Damon continued to control Caroline and made her wear a scarf to cover the wound on her neck all the time. Damon secretly shows his love to Elena, but his charm doesn't seem to work. Instead, he got a slap in the face. Stefan said that Damon still hates Catherine for her death, because Damon still loves Catherine deeply, trying to convince Damon that there is still a trace of humanity. Damon attacked Tanner, a history teacher and football coach, and proved to his younger brother that he was just a killing machine.

Jeremy continued to be jealous of Vicky and Taylor, and they had another big fight. Jeremy cut Stefan's hand trying to stop the fight. Elena swore that she saw it, but Stefan's hand soon healed. He lied that the blood was not his. Vicky found Jeremy and told him that she didn't take medicine with him.

Bonnie inexplicably saw three strange numbers, and finally found out that they were actually the omen of murder. Out of a man's self-esteem, Damon fell in love with Elena who rejected him.

Family relations

Elena and Stefan paired off for the town's annual founder's party. Vicky wants Gentelle to take her. Damon told Elena the history of the Salvatore family. Stefan tried to shake off Damon's influence on his life.

Damon sneaked into Stephen's dream, in which Damon killed Elena. Damon claimed to Caroline that Catherine chose him, and Stefan separated them through one lie after another, which finally reached Elena's ears.

Everyone is preparing for the upcoming founder's party. Elena also lent several family heirlooms as party exhibits, but one of them was a pocket watch, and Jeremy wanted to stay. Vicky's choice to go to the party with Tyler also made Jeremy feel bad. Zach's talkativeness annoyed Damon, and Damon even tried to strangle him, so Zach stood firmly on Stefan's side. Damon tried to impress Elena again. He apologized for his reckless kissing. When he mentioned the competition between him and his brother, Elena made it clear that she didn't want to be caught in the middle. Elena wants to know more about Stefan, but Stefan is always secretive.

Elena found Damon's tooth marks on Caroline and thought he was abusing Caroline. Elena warns Damon to stay away from Caroline and apologizes to Stefan for her suspicion. Jeremy and Vicky get back together, but their relationship makes Elena and Jenna a little worried. Vicki stole the rest of Elena's painkillers, and Jeremy was angry about it, and the relationship between them reappeared in crisis.

Damon is still locked in the basement, and his body is getting weaker and weaker. Stefan told Damon to keep him there for 50 years. Logan and Jenna began to slowly restore their relationship. Logan ran into Jeremy's room when Jane wasn't looking and stole the pocket watch at home.

The lost girl

Elena wants to find out from Stefan the real reason for the series of unfortunate incidents in Mystic Falls. The root of the conflict between the two brothers also slowly surfaced through Stefan's memories of the past. Damon turned Vicki into a vampire. Meanwhile, Caroline's mother, Sheriff Forbes, Taylor's father, Mayor Lockwood and others continue to do their best to protect the town.

Elena asked Stefan to explain the unfortunate events in the town. Stefan had to admit that he and Damon were vampires who had lived for hundreds of years, but he begged Elena to keep a secret. Stefan told her all the secrets and survival rules of being a vampire. Stefan told the story that two brothers fell in love with Catherine in 1864 and were turned into vampires by her, but did not mention Catherine's death.

Damon saved Stefan from Logan's gun. Despite Stefan's efforts to stop it, Vicky still sucks Logan's blood that Damon put down. This turned Vicki into a complete vampire. Stefan finally returned the ring to Damon because Damon threatened to hurt Elena if he didn't get it back.

At the end of the unimaginable day, Elena promised Stefan that she would keep a secret, believing that Stefan would not hurt herself, but she broke up reluctantly.

Stefan tried to save Vicki. Damon wanted to get the necklace back from Bonnie, but she was shocked by her ability. Bonnie learned more about family history. Matt took Vicki to a Halloween party.

Vicky's behavior becomes more and more dangerous, and Stefan tries to help her control her bloodthirsty instinct. Without knowing it, the mayor's wife revealed many secrets against Damon, including Zach Salvatore.

Caroline gave Damon's necklace to Bonnie to wear at the masquerade party. Bonnie later learned from her grandmother that this necklace once belonged to an ancestor of her family, and it contained powerful magic. Damon tried to get the necklace back by force, but his hand was burned. Bonnie was shocked by her ability.

In order to cheer Vicky up, Matt took her to the school Halloween masquerade. At the dance, he and Elena met by chance, and both of them were wearing a couple's suit a few years ago. Vicki ignored all the advice to stay away from Jeremy, followed him all the time, and finally lost control and tried to suck Jeremy's blood. Elena came to stop them from being together, but unfortunately she angered Vicky and almost died. In desperation, Stefan stabbed Vicky in the chest with a wooden stick. Elena decided to keep it from Matt forever.

Damon finally told the real reason for returning to the town, but his plan was ruined by Bonnie's ancestor Emily, and finally both brothers decided to leave the town.

Jeremy got a chance to improve his grades from his new history teacher, alaric Salcman-to finish a paper on local history in a week. Jeremy noticed alaric's ring, which was similar to that worn by vampires. Jenna suggested that he could follow in his father's footsteps and start with family history. By chance, Jeremy introduced alaric to Jenna, and Jenna took a fancy to him. Alaric wanted Jenna to invite him into the house, but Jenna realized that Jeremy was there, so she didn't agree. It turns out Emily is Catherine's maid. On the night of burning down the church, she cast a spell to save Catherine and other vampires and lock them underground. Damon is still bent on getting the necklace back, and reminds him of the agreement he made with Emily a century and a half ago-Damon will protect Emily's descendants and Emily will save Catherine, but Emily destroyed the necklace first, which dashed Damon's hope of releasing Catherine. It turns out that the real purpose of Damon's return to the city is to release Catherine through Emily's necklace. Stefan tried to stop Damon because he realized that those vampires would take revenge on the innocent residents of the town. Damon attacked Bonnie after Emily left Bonnie's body. Stefan saved her with his own blood. Releasing Catherine is everything in Damon's heart, and it's too late now. The sad Damon decided to leave this sad place forever.

Elena found out that she really wanted to be with Stefan, but Stefan turned Elena down and said she was leaving town, too. Elena begged him not to leave. Elena told Bonnie the truth about everything that happened in the past.

Matt claimed that he didn't like Caroline, but he would still be there for her when she needed it.

Stefan and Damon met a common enemy. Elena discovered a hidden secret.

The diary left by Gilbert's ancestors made Jeremy start painting strange fantasy creatures again, which was his parents' hobby when they were alive. Matt and Caroline came together, which surprised everyone around them. Alaric dissuaded Lockwood from lecturing Jeremy and Taylor in an inappropriate way.

Matt started dating Caroline. He told Taylor that he liked being with Caroline.

Stefan and Damon plan to leave Mystic Falls, but the sudden appearance of vampire Logan disrupts their trip. Elena and Stefan finally got closer, but things got worse after she accidentally saw Katherine's photo. Elena left the necklace containing vervain that Stefan gave him on the table, and then with mixed feelings, she hurried home without Stefan finding it.
