I made a summary of our contemporary college students' life values:

At present, Chinese college students are facing the most critical period of life development. The times require us to face and think about how to correctly handle a series of important issues such as the relationship between individuals and society in all aspects of study and life. We should learn to survive, learn to learn, learn to create and learn to contribute. These are the most basic and important qualities that we must have to face society and life in the future. Among them, I think the most important thing is to learn how to be a man and learn to be a person with sound personality that meets the needs of national prosperity and social progress and development; Learn to be a person who can correctly handle the relationship between people, people and society, and people and nature and make them develop harmoniously; Be a person with ideals, morality and noble sentiments. As we all know, contemporary college students must be guided by scientific theories and world outlook, and set up correct life values. An unavoidable fact is that at present, China's social life is changing with each passing day, various ownership economic systems coexist, the interest distribution pattern is adjusted, the influence and impact of various cultures, economic globalization, lifestyle changes and so on. All these will inevitably lead to the diversification of values in the real life of contemporary China. On the university campus, college students' values have been in the process of differentiation and integration, turbulence and generation, and they have to make difficult choices in the conflict between social values and personal values, spiritual values and material values, and valuing righteousness over profit. Among them, there are not only the values guidance of being proactive, pioneering and innovative, and pursuing the lofty realm of truth, goodness and beauty in life and society, but also the temptations of vulgarity, negativity, enjoyment and pursuit of material satisfaction. College students are undoubtedly the group with the most active thinking and the easiest to accept new ideas. With the awakening of college students' subjective consciousness, under the new century and situation, it is particularly important to systematically guide college students' values with Marxism and socialist ideology, guide them to form values consistent with the mainstream values of society, and shape a new generation of socialism with distinctive orientation and universal applicability. How to consciously and scientifically cultivate and cultivate life values for each of our college students is the foundation of this major social project and a compulsory course for our own life path.

Through learning, I realized that the so-called values are actually the sum of various value standards. Every era has its dominant values, and we should strive to cultivate values that meet the requirements of the times and have social dominance. The generation of new value is not passive water, nor is it a tree without roots. The cultivation of correct values should be rooted in the reality of China, grasp the changing law of values and master scientific methods. At present, Theory of Three Represents is the general value standard to measure the Communist Party of China (CPC)'s practice in the new century. Theory of Three Represents is not only a major development of Marxist theory of party building, but also a major breakthrough of value theory, which marks the formation of the value theory of the third generation of the party's collective leadership. This theory inherits and develops the value theory of Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping, adapts to the new situation of China's reform, opening up and socialist modernization, the new changes of the world situation and the new requirements of the era of knowledge economy. It is a new form of value theory, with distinctive China style and characteristics of the times, and a high degree of unity of nationality and times. We know that Marxism has always regarded the development of productive forces as the ultimate driving force of social development. Therefore, whether it is conducive to the development of productive forces in the end has become the primary criterion for producers to measure whether their practices are correct, that is, productivity standards. Representing the orientation of advanced culture is to constantly form and establish advanced and correct values. Under the situation that all kinds of thoughts and cultures in the world are struggling with each other and complicated ideological fields, we should always keep a clear head, stick to the correct direction, fully embody the spirit and creativity of the times, and at the same time consciously abandon those backward, decadent and vulgar cultures and values, actively carry out cultural innovation, build an advanced value system, and truly give new values a soul. China's * * * production party never talks about its own selfish interests, thinking that the interests of the party are the interests of the working class, that is, the interests of the people. Whether it can truly represent the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people is not only a test for political parties, but also a touchstone for testing whether a party member has advanced scientific values. This value theory facing the new century takes patriotism, collectivism and socialism as its value orientation, the ideal of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as its value goal, the broad masses of the people as its value subject, pioneering and innovative as its practical means, fair competition as its incentive mechanism and "Theory of Three Represents" as its most basic value standard. Representing the development requirements of advanced productive forces is the cornerstone of new values; Representing the direction of advanced culture is the soul of new values; Always representing the fundamental interests of the overwhelming majority of the people is the core of the new values. The cultivation of our contemporary college students' values should focus on this core value.

Of course, I also know that to establish correct and scientific values, we should not only have correct theoretical guidance, but also be brave in practice, and cultivate, form and enhance our lofty life values in concrete study and life practice. As the world outlook, outlook on life and values of our younger generation are constantly changing and forming, each college student may have different value ideals and goals in different growth and development processes, and strive to achieve these value ideals and goals through various practical activities. Our value cognition and value practice activities are not isolated and independent, but are subject to multiple constraints of the times, social value system, especially mainstream values and various value relationships in existing social mechanisms. As an important new force of future social builders, college students are bound to be influenced by many factors. We not only need to mobilize the enthusiasm of society, schools, families and other aspects to do a good job together, but also need each of our college students to consciously practice, be brave in exploration, study hard, think more and ask more questions, innovate and create, and pay special attention to starting from little things, starting from small things around us, and seeking truth and being pragmatic.
