At present, there are 0/83 faculty members and 0/55 teachers, including Xu, an academician of China Academy of Sciences, famous professors from all over the country and Beijing, and part-time professors such as Hong Tao,, etc. There are 28 doctoral supervisors (including 1 external teacher), 36 professors and 70 associate professors. Teachers with doctoral degrees account for 53.5% of the total number of teachers, and more than 35% of teachers have more than three months of overseas experience. There are about 1.500 undergraduates, more than 280 graduate students and more than 30 doctoral students. The undergraduate education rate of the College of Science ranks among the best in the whole school in the past three years.
As the training base of undergraduate physiology, the College of Science is based on the National Physical Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center and the National Basic Engineering Course Physics Teaching Base. Teachers led by national famous teachers are committed to teaching research and textbook construction, and have made remarkable achievements in basic teaching of college physics and physical experiments. In 2005, he won a national special prize and a second prize for teaching achievements, which achieved a breakthrough of zero special prize for school teaching achievements. In 2005, the National Engineering Physics Base won the title of Excellent Base, and in 2006, the Physics Experiment Center passed the evaluation and became a national teaching experiment center. At the same time, the construction of engineering mathematics base has been fully started. Since 2002, our undergraduate students have achieved excellent results in national and international college students' mathematics competitions. The first prize won 20 first prizes, 23 second prizes and 43 third prizes, ranking among the top universities in Beijing. Forty-seven kinds of textbooks for the Tenth Five-Year Plan and a series of textbooks for graduate and undergraduate students have been published, including two excellent textbooks in Beijing and 1 textbook for graduate students recommended by the Ministry of Education of Beijing Jiaotong University.
Since the establishment of the Institute, the academic level and social service ability of scientific research have been steadily improved. It has successively undertaken key and general projects such as National 973 and 863, National Natural Science Foundation, National Outstanding Youth Fund, national science and technology support projects, international cooperation projects and scientific research projects of ministries, industries and local governments, and its ability to serve national defense science and technology has also been greatly improved. During the Tenth Five-Year Plan period, the scientific research contract funds were 4.6 times that of the Ninth Five-Year Plan, and the annual scientific research contract funds were nearly 20 million. The quantity and quality of academic papers are also increasing year by year. During the Tenth Five-Year Plan, SCI papers accounted for 4 1.2% of the total number of schools. The SICE retrieval papers of the School of Science rank first in the whole school for five consecutive years, and nearly 400 academic papers are published every year. 86 patents have been authorized and 49 invention patents have been authorized. Won 4 provincial and ministerial science and technology awards.
The College of Science actively builds academic exchange platforms for teachers and students, organizes about 80 academic reports every year, and invites scholars from universities and research institutions at home and abroad to exchange ideas and introduce the latest scientific research progress. Constantly expanding foreign exchanges, we have established extensive academic exchanges, scientific research and teaching project cooperation with universities or colleges in the United States, Germany, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong, and nearly 20 teachers visit abroad every year.
After ten years' construction, the School of Science has formed a number of distinctive research directions, vigorously trained and hired a group of young experts and academic leaders, and formed a new pattern of scientific research with basic scientific research as the mainstay and interdisciplinary as the emerging growth point. On the basis of maintaining the discipline characteristics, advantages and domestic leading level, we will strive to reach the international advanced level in more directions.
