There are two kinds of graduate students in Australia. The first type is teaching, and you can graduate as long as you have completed enough credits. Finally, there is no large graduation thesis. It's just that each course has a small paper, and the second one is research-oriented. When I graduate, I have a big paper to do, and I can't graduate until I succeed in my defense.
