I am the same age as Youzhou. In my opinion, he is the best among his peers, taking into account both academic research and creative appreciation. With independent academic opinions, it becomes a statement. Moreover, he can expound the academic viewpoints accumulated by years of research in a relaxed and elegant style, giving people wisdom, enlightenment and beautiful enjoyment. This can be seen from his inscriptions, such as "writing thousands of words with Yue Yi posts" and "presenting Yuan Yong's epitaph with the thousands of words of Zen master Zhiyong". This is based on the "reduction" of personal academic thinking. The essence of the Six Dynasties culture is the expansion of human nature. There is a "relativity" between Zhiyong's calligraphy and the epitaph of the Northern Wei Dynasty. Taking this as a breakthrough, trying to integrate the North and South styles of writing and interpreting the inscriptions with pen and ink will undoubtedly bring many inspirations to the viewers. In other words, these phrases are actually novel and profound academic views. Song Ke's "Urgent Chapter" and "Yue Yi Tie" come down in one continuous line, thus realizing Cao Zhang's connection between ancient and modern times, gaining experience through classics, and then integrating various legal resources to build its own style. In my opinion, the so-called personality is the constant emphasis on one's own thinking and the establishment of a new "order" in the process of constant reciprocating arrangement.
Youzhou pays great attention to writing. There are all kinds of "interests" between the lines, and interests and rational interests are mutually generated and inclusive. If the presentation of interest in reasoning is closely related to the appearance and change of similarity in works, and interest looms in it, then the process of pursuing similarity is a process of both interest and interest. In aesthetic activities, calligraphers always feel the present state and life situation wholeheartedly. Life is interesting and calligraphy is interesting. That is to say, the calligrapher's emotion and intention are inevitably interrelated in the writing process, which determines that the growth of interest always tends to the formation of interest, and the formation of interest includes the growth of interest. One is "I'm interested". A very important foothold of Youzhou is the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. I was deeply impressed by the official script and Zhao's regular script, which matched Lao Mi's arrogance and wisdom and became his own flesh and blood. Many works are lyrical, lyrical and expressive.
From these aspects, the function of academic research is perfectly reflected in the creation, and the essence of "I am for me" is achieved. All legal resources should be used by me, one useless, focusing on the influence of academic spirit, and the other useful, which can show its creative talent. If the two are organically combined, the intention can be achieved first. Many of Youzhou's works have both individual colors and unique meanings, which are not only the creation process of artistic realm, but also the presentation process of personal character and life realm.
Now, generalists are impossible. In fact, most of the generalists in ancient times were biased towards poetry, painting and calligraphy. Even in the history of great men, there are many unrelated fields, such as finance, management, accounting and so on. Nowadays, calligraphy socialization involves a wide range of fields and many clues. Textual research, creation, market and appreciation are constantly interrelated. Youzhou has achieved access on a professional basis and achieved a breakthrough in the field of calligraphy. This is a very simple fact. If you don't understand textual research and talk about techniques, mistakes are inevitable. If there is no creative experience to talk about theory, emptiness is inevitable. As a compound calligrapher, Youzhou can be said to make ends meet.
In my eyes, Youzhou is a scholar, a scholar and a scholar. Source: Art News

A book is like a man —— Three understandings of Zhu Youzhou
20 1 1-8-2 1 dried flowers from a vegetarian restaurant by Liangxi River.
I have been studying in Nanyi for three years, and the most familiar and interesting sentence is "nice person", which is very flexible. If someone praises others with this sentence, you should be careful. Of course, I use this sentence to say Zhu Youzhou in a positive sense.
I met Zhu Youzhou once before the postgraduate entrance examination, and hurried home after the postgraduate entrance examination. After waiting for a long time, I realized that the original unit had detained the admission notice. This time is a few days before I went to school to report. I quickly asked Zhu Youzhou, who had just stayed in school, to help me print another admission notice in the graduate school, and it was delivered to me by express two days later. I am the beneficiary, which is inevitably subjective: for a warm-hearted and anxious person like him, it is a natural goodwill; For me, the trajectory of life has changed since then.
Most of my colleagues and friends went to Youzhou as travelers, not only because of his family's enthusiasm, but also because of his father-in-law's good cooking, which won him a good reputation. His parents-in-law often bring authentic raw materials such as bacon, smoked fish, tofu balls and Chili products from Hunan, supplemented by authentic cooking. When the green and red dishes were served, they were already envied by others at the same table. As for the Hunan people studying abroad, he can especially understand my nostalgia for peppers. Therefore, every holiday, several fellow villagers who are attending school will be invited to his home to get together. In addition to talking about the nostalgia, they are having a feast, and friends from the same town will naturally understand each other.
He is "a good man" because he concentrates on art and study.
Friends who are familiar with Youzhou probably know that he is a gifted scholar with rich experience, exquisite professionalism and keen artistic sense. However, it was lonely efforts that made him talented. It is said that he had to write for more than several hours every day during his graduate school, and his studies could not be counted. Among many diligent students, he is the most diligent, and his graduation works are well received by experts.
What I am familiar with is his research on calligraphy bearing materials-pen, ink, paper and inkstone in recent one or two years. I don't know how many people pay attention to empirical research now, but Zhu Youzhou is one of them. He visited Anhui, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Fuzhou, Inner Mongolia, Xiamen and other places of origin of painting and calligraphy materials many times at his own expense, watched the production process in the factory workshop, visited craftsmen and explored the production of raw materials, all of which were meticulous and recorded accurately. The research on pens is more systematic and in-depth, such as the production of pens, which pays attention to the performance, production technology and material configuration of pens; Such as climbing historical facts, observing shapes and distinguishing changes; For example, pay attention to the pen industry, pay attention to collecting and sorting out the information of ancient and modern pen industry, and make a biography for the pen industry; For example, pay attention to the pen-making area and genre; For example, research on the friendship between pen writers and calligraphers; For example, the influence of pen on works. His published research articles have explained his research progress, not to mention his research is still deepening. We will see an expert who has a comprehensive three-dimensional study of pens-Professor Zhu Youzhou.
Friends in art can not only specialize, but also be knowledgeable. As long as he has artistic talent, he can play the flute, taste wine and appreciate it, so I won't say much here.
Books are like people. If others are good, calligraphy must be very good. His calligraphy works are pure in breath, pure in brushwork, delicate in writing, vivid in modeling and interesting in composition. These words are well said by experts. I, a ticket friend, said, who believes it? ! This is not an irresponsible remark.
He is very good.

Comments on Zhu Youzhou's Calligraphy
Youzhou's calligraphy has an air of simplicity, grace, simplicity and innocence. This kind of breath is precious because there is a natural nature at work. It is not easy to get some nature in the picture book, nor is it easy to integrate hundred schools of thought with nature. You Zhou's calligraphy has been studied by many scholars, and the calligraphy books and various folk calligraphy styles of Han Li, Wei Bei, Zhong Wang, Tang and Song Dynasties have been carefully studied. But he has never seen which one he belongs to, but he has just remitted his experience to his own pen. In my opinion, his best running script is often vivid in reality, full of gestures in the heavy colors of his pen, not strange, powerful, chaotic and spiritual, but a combination of aura and simplicity in humble. Youzhou is young, and according to his attitude of diligent study, the future is naturally limitless.

Comment on Friends Boat —— Liang Peixian
Brother youzhou is my brother. He followed my tutor, Mr. Qiu Zhenzhong, earlier than I did, so he should be called brother. After that, he was admitted to the graduate school of Professor Xu Liming of Nanjing University of the Arts, where he stayed as a teacher, and then continued to study for his doctorate. Along the way, it can be said that it is climbing step by step and constantly seeking.
Brother Youzhou's calligraphy is obviously influenced by Mr. Qiu's brushwork concept, and some of xu teacher's creative techniques, such as using a pen to grow hair at will, are also used quite freely. This is the happiest place for me to see his works, not only because we are in the same school, but also because when I returned to Nanjing more than ten years later, the consternation of time and space was like previous lives. The withering of predecessors-the helplessness of lingering echoes-makes this historic city farther and farther away from our cultural ideal, or frankly, fewer and fewer people know calligraphy. You can see some people who can continue on the basis of brushwork, which is rare. I am glad that Brother Youzhou's works can at least retain some basic skills, techniques and requirements.
I have always believed that in China's art, technology and skill are culture. The selection, study and application of a technology and skill, as well as the level of application, play a fundamental role in the cultivation of cultural psychology and the corresponding tempering of hand-boxing. Far away from the empty clamor and cramming of basic norms and technical norms, it should be inferior in comparison. In other words, the latter's approach corresponds to a kind of arrogant and ostentatious cultural psychology, and its inferiority complex is inevitable. Really great art does not have to be noisy, and art does not mean that it must be lyrical. What clamorers and lyricists value is only "self" and "self", which are coquettish in a narrow range. True art and great art have never been like this. Art does not belong to the self. Only by galloping in the universe that does not belong to the self can we finally realize the true self-the "big self" that transcends the narrow self. This is the truth that China artists should understand from the first day they engage in art.
Brother Youzhou originally asked me to make some comments on his works. But it doesn't seem to matter what I ramble about, not because I don't want to discuss his works in depth, but because everyone is on the road, watching the scenery while walking, and the scenery itself is a reference. I want to encourage you, Youzhou brother.

Crazy, chivalrous, gentle
Bright moon--thoughts on guan youzhou's calligraphy.
You Xiong's cursive script is original, unrestrained and full of personality. Huang Ting Yunjian: Follow other people's plans and die together with future generations. A calligrapher must think carefully about his personal style. Recently, when he was 30 years old, he collected more than 240 kinds of epitaphs during the Han and Wei Dynasties. Because of his knowledge and sense of shame, he achieved the greatness of Jin Nong's running script, regular script and official script. Zhang Caoshu's current book style is based on this, and there are very few admirers in the world. There are two princes and pavilions. The world is unified, but my friend Zhou Xiong is successful.
This exhibition not only has traditional works, but also the exploration works of calligraphy and painting school, which is launched in the style of seal script, showing that Brother Youzhou is brilliant. This is related to his previous comprehensive literacy in Chinese major. In his early years, he studied under Mr. Wang Yong in the north and Professor Xu Liming in the south. After many years, it can be seen that his heart of studying abroad is sincere.
Brother Youzhou works in Nanyi Academy of Fine Arts, focusing on academics and studying for a doctorate. His doctoral thesis takes Mr. Gao Ershi as the research object, and I think it is his inner desire to become a scholar artist. Although not as lively as a calligrapher who focuses on creation, Brother Youzhou will certainly make great achievements in the future. You can wait and see, and you will know that my assertion is true.
The bright moon is in a hurry under the open lamp.
It's been a long time, and there are no such wonderful lines.
Writing your own things is the true meaning.
Mr. Wang's brushwork is calm, frank and natural.
Don't be limited to modern celebrities and so-called everybody demeanor.
Pursuing one's own connotation and depth will surely achieve great success over time.
My younger brother, Youzhou, loved calligraphy since childhood. When he was in college, he devoted himself to Xi Zhi. After work, he had the opportunity to study under Mr. Wang Yong in Central America. Fortunately, he also; Later, he went to South Xu Liming to study for a master's degree, and stayed there with excellent results. Fortunately, he also; Today, I have the honor to go to the school in xu teacher for further study. However, behind luck is persistence and hard work, courage and talent, I know.
My hometown is in the hills of northern Hunan, with beautiful scenery and simple folk customs. Especially in the small village where Youzhou lives, there is running water in front of the door and lush old trees behind the house. Reading his books is already a scene in my hometown. This is what I want to draw.
The line skills obtained from the north, the academic accomplishment obtained from the south and the natural temperament of my hometown are today's leisurely, natural, simple and intriguing book style.

Thoughts on Guan You's Zhou Xiong-Li Yongqiang Book Fair
Brother Youzhou is a talented young man with quick thinking and exquisite calligraphy. He has his own profound thoughts on calligraphy creation and its contemporary development. A few days ago, the exhibition "Simplicity and Keeping Simplicity —— Zhu Youzhou's Calligraphy Exhibition and Meeting China's New Book on Ancient Brush Research" successfully held in the Art Museum of the Academy of Fine Arts is a perfect interpretation of his calligraphy creation and thinking. There are three feelings about visiting the exhibition:
First, potential and cause. The ancients said, "When you look at a painting, you should look at it from a distance and look at it closely." Although it is calligraphy and painting, it can also be used for calligraphy. Walking into the Youzhou Brother Calligraphy Exhibition, I was suddenly shocked by the majestic atmosphere. Eight-foot, two-foot, or even larger calligraphy works pour thousands of miles from top to bottom, imposing, chic and heroic. However, if we look closely at his works, whether they are large or small, they are all written casually, with the pen at the end and the heart and hand corresponding, which is extremely exquisite.
Second, the spirit of stone and book. Brother Guan Youzhou's book is vigorous and full of ancient epigraphy, which stems from his attention and research on epigraphy. But there is also a long scroll spirit in the vast and magnificent stone spirit, which is related to his profound academic accomplishment and accumulation. The soul of a book depends on the cultivation of culture and academic support. It is not a day's work and it is not easy.
Third, traditional calligraphy and contemporary display. Calligraphy is synonymous with tradition, which contains the spirit of China culture and philosophy. Therefore, the display of calligraphy is relatively simple. The display of this exhibition broke the traditional single display mode, stepped down from the wall and adopted a brand-new display mode, which made the audience shine. From calligraphy works to exhibition layout, it reflects the deep thinking of calligraphers and curators.
Brother Youzhou is young and vigorous, which is the golden age of calligraphy creation and calligraphy research. I wish him more outstanding achievements in his future artistic career.
Cross-border Zhu Youzhou
This exhibition "Seeing the Plain and Embracing the Plain" not only presents Zhu Youzhou's calligraphy, but also becomes a space feast related to calligraphy. This "wedding banquet" has a specific significance in Jiangsu, as well as the exhibition space of Nanyi Academy of Fine Arts. More importantly, the success of the exhibition is an inspiration to Zhu Youzhou's personal confidence.
Calligraphy has always played the role of appealing to both refined and popular tastes in the current artistic pattern in China. In the spread of public art, calligraphy has always been just an ornament because of its volume. Some people try to bring calligraphy into the contemporary era. During the New Wave Period of the Eighth Five-Year Plan of the last century, Gu Wenda singled out Chinese characters, disassembled them, inked them and reassembled them. Bing Xu's analysis of the world has the appearance of China's calligraphy but has no ideographic function of Chinese characters; Later, his new English calligraphy skillfully combined the meaning of English words with the shape of Chinese characters. They all went beyond the limitations of China's ideographic expression and calligraphy aesthetics, and entered a fully galloping and conceptual contemporary artistic expression. It can be said that calligraphy and writing are only one of the intermediary symbols of its artistic expression.
Zhu Youzhou can't go there yet, but judging from the exhibition effect and his expression, he has a restless heart to reconsider the calligraphy unit he is already familiar with. His calligraphy exhibition has developed from a flat display of interest and temperament to a critical point of re-examining words and writing through the occupation of space and visual oppression.
"Critical" means that it can be crossed or maintained, and "critical" is also a balance point. Is it crossed? On this side of the border, the road is ripe, the flowers are laid, and the prospects are already good; On the other side of the border, Yuan Ye, where our predecessors seldom set foot, is full of flowers and traps. Although the prospect is not clear, it is more tempting to create!
Gu Chengfeng —— In 2003, he received a doctorate in art history from Nanjing Art Institute. He is currently teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts of Nanjing Art Institute.
My opinion on Zhu Youzhou's calligraphy
Calligraphy is very simple, that is, writing Chinese characters with a brush. But this thing is very complicated. Some people spend their whole lives trying to figure out what calligraphy is all about. Although calligraphy is a small skill, it contains many things, such as China's simple philosophy in ancient times, such as life experience, such as the grasp of aesthetic temperature and scale. In short, as far as technology is concerned, it is both complex and profound.
Being able to write calligraphy clearly is actually a writer's blessing. After all, we haven't understood what you are playing for many years, which is very sad. Zhu Youzhou's calligraphy, which I read many years ago, is tepid, neither stimulating nor vigorous. It is the kind of unobtrusive but tasteful words. After many years, looking at his handwriting, it seems to be the same, just with more flavor, similar to wine. With the increase of years, Chen is thick, strong and lingering. Although it is not a strong liquor that can make you drunk at once, it will also make you drunk.
You Zhou is good at cursive writing, which must be related to his personality. Although we don't have much contact, his cheerful personality will inevitably choose lyric cursive as a carrier to express it. In fact, if you study his works carefully, you will find that he is the kind of person who makes calligraphy plain.
For example, his cursive script is good at hiding. The so-called "hiding" means introversion. He did not express his talent and personality by stretching lines and exaggerating structure, but expressed his pen and ink temperament in a convergent way, which is quite consistent with China's philosophy. For example, his cursive script is very durable. The so-called "resistance" means that he found and extracted some essence from the classic calligraphy handed down from generation to generation, which is actually the details of the ancients. He skillfully and reasonably integrated these things into his own creation, and at the same time, he did not stick to a certain school of methods, so his works had a quaint taste. At this point, we can find some brushstrokes like Cao Zhang in his works, not only the modeling of lines, but also his treatment of some structures and the choice of typesetting, all of which show his ingenuity. For example, his cursive script has simple lines. The so-called simplicity means that he deeply understands the brushwork of the ancients, rather than simply chasing the lines of the ancients. The core of brushwork is not the posture of the pen, but the posture that creates the shape of the line. Many people write cursive scripts with the function of winding, thinking that they are full of smoke. In fact, after removing those messy dotted lines, the shape is scattered and trivial, which is a common problem of not understanding the cursive structure. As a scholar and calligrapher, Youzhou has obviously done in-depth combing and research, and knows how to write cursive script, which is very remarkable. It is difficult to write cursive script in a simple way, and it is even more difficult to write it in a clean and gentle way. Sven is a distinctive feature of China culture. His calligraphy can trudge on his own road under the cover of contemporary exhibition fashion, which requires not only courage but also wisdom.
I think, as an expert in calligraphy, he has a deep research on brush tools and traditional calligraphy, which is his advantage. And a calligrapher can keep a tepid writing mentality. In the long run, the road will get wider and wider, and the boat of art will eventually row to the other side of the ideal!
