Many authors have had this experience. The article has been submitted for two or three months, and there is no news at all. The submission status has not changed. I am anxious, but I am at a loss. Should I send a reminder letter? Is it possible to be sad if you send it?
Charlesworth mentioned in the previous article that there is a complete process from submission to publication, and the review time of different publishing houses is different, so the author has to wait more or less. The review time is the longest, which consists of the editor's initial review time, the reviewer's review time and the editor's opinion time. If the reviewer fails to review the manuscript on time, the author's manuscript may have to wait longer.
So do you want to rush the manuscript?
Don't wait for the flowers to fall, then rush the manuscript. This is normal behavior, and the editor will understand. If you haven't heard from the manuscript for two months or more, you might as well send a sincere letter to the editor, which will help speed up the progress, but don't go too far. If you send a letter from time to time, the editor will only be sorry for you. The writing of the dunning letter is actually very simple, and a good attitude is certain. Secondly, be concise and to the point. Don't talk too much nonsense. Many authors of the following reminder letter regard it as a template. You might as well refer to:
Dear Professor XXX:
Sorry to bother you. I'm not sure if it's the right time to contact you and ask about the status of my manuscript entitled "Thesis Title". (ID: article draft number), although it has been raining for more than two months since it was submitted to the journal three months ago. I just want to know if my manuscript has been sent to the reviewers.
I would appreciate it if you could take some time to check the situation for us. I'm glad to hear your comments on the critics.
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Sincere greetings!
You are sincere,
