What are the characteristics of Tibetan Buddhist monks' costumes?
In Tibetan Buddhism, the larger sects are: Ningma Sect (commonly known as Red Sect), Sakya Sect (commonly known as Flower Sect), Gadang Sect, Kagyu Sect (commonly known as White Sect) and Gelug Sect (commonly known as Yellow Sect).

Maning religion is an early school of Tibetan Buddhism in Tibetan areas. Monks of this sect wear red robes, skirts and caps, so they are commonly known as "Red Religion". Sakya monks wore red and lotus-shaped Buddhist crowns and red cassocks. The monks of the Kagyu Sect generally wear white monk skirts and tops, so they are commonly known as "White Religion". The Gelug Sect developed on the basis of the Gadang Sect. The monasteries originally belonging to Gadang Sect gradually became Gelugpa monasteries in the15th century, and now Gadang Sect no longer exists alone in Tibetan areas. Gelugpa monks wear yellow peach-shaped caps, commonly known as Yellow Hat Sect or Yellow Sect.
