The steps are as follows:
In the writing of the paper, it is necessary to combine the corresponding maps to illustrate the specific regional division. Taking five functional areas in Chongqing as an example, this paper uses Arcgis to make a schematic diagram of regional division. First, let's compare the schematic diagram on the network with the renderings drawn by Arcgis: the schematic diagram of Chongqing's "five functional areas" (the left picture is from the network and the right picture is made by Arcgis).
The picture on the left may be more suitable for the illustration in the work. In academic papers, try to avoid the color matching like this three-dimensional schematic+"spicy eyes". In addition, there are some problems in the left picture, such as thick watermark and no picture title. In view of this, the schematic diagram drawn by Arcgis can basically meet the requirements of academic drawing: clear legend, obvious color contrast, compass and scale setting. Below, let's share the specific production steps.
First, the regional color matching
Open the shp file of Chongqing Administrative Region with Arcgis, right-click and select Attribute to switch to Symbol System-Category-Unique Value, as shown below: Select the value field as the region name (here my region name field is the name), and then click Add All Values.
The color bar in the upper right corner provides different gradients. You can also double-click the county name under * * * and set the color according to your personal preference, as shown in the figure below:
Note: There seems to be no shortcut to the color matching of all areas here, so you can only manually configure different colors for districts and counties according to different areas. After the color matching is completed, you can select five districts and counties in different areas in the label bar and change the label name to the corresponding area name. As shown in the figure below, pay attention to the change of the label bar.
Second, add legends and make appropriate adjustments.
From this step on, we all operate in layout view! ! Otherwise, the icons for inserting legend, compass and scale are all gray!
The method of switching views is as follows: click the small square at the bottom of the page to default to data view, and the second small square is layout view.
After switching views, click Insert-Legend to open the following interface. Here, for the convenience of viewing, the number of columns in the legend is set to 4. If there are no special requirements, keep clicking the next step. Finally, we get the following interface: At this point, we need to delete unnecessary legends and only keep the five previously set region names. But the legends at this time are all a whole, and we need to separate them.
Select the whole legend, and right-click to convert it into a picture-ungroup, as shown in the figure below. Delete unnecessary legends and adjust the legend size (it is recommended to fine-tune the legend in percentage form so that the legend will not appear too big or too long). The final figure is shown in the following figure:
Third, insert the compass and ruler
Further improve the details, insert compass, scale and text (picture title). According to personal needs, choose the corresponding compass and scale. The final picture is as follows: After confirming that there is no missing picture information, click File-Export Picture to set the resolution, pixel size and saved picture type by yourself.
