He was the first person in Japan to receive a doctorate in QFD under the guidance of internationally renowned quality expert Professor Yoshitaka Shinto, a world-renowned quality scholar and academician Yoji Akao, the founder of QFD. It opens up a new research field of software quality function deployment (SQFD), initiates SQFD theory and application model, and two software structure design methodologies based on this theory. At the same time, he participated in the creation of a new discipline-development management engineering in the QFD Research Association of Japan Science and Technology Federation. He has made great achievements in the field of quality science and was highly praised by Professor H.A.Siomon, a Nobel Prize winner. As an advanced worker of Zhejiang University (2005), he won the key course construction award and the provincial thesis award and was recommended as a national outstanding young talent. He won the second prize of the National Excellent Quality Paper (the first prize was vacant) and the first prize of the National Quality and Technology Award, and QFD research theory was selected into the Treasure House of Contemporary Management Thoughts in China (China Academy of Management Sciences).

In Japan, several well-known multinational companies have been project managers and chief engineers for nearly 10 years, and have visited Silicon Valley in the United States for cooperative research many times. The research on recording quality control of CD/DVD optical media has overcome the long-standing problems in this field, and made Plextor brand gain the reputation of "king of quality". In 2002, he successfully developed the world's first triple density recorder, which was exhibited at CES in Las Vegas, USA and CEBIT Information and Communication Technology Expo in Hanover, Germany, causing great repercussions. Other international patents invented independently or as the first inventor, as well as more than 100 technical research projects, have also won the title of "the highest speed in the world" for Plextor series recorders for many times, and won dozens of international awards in Europe, America and Japan, which has played a key role in growing into a top brand in the world. Several research results were reported by three newspapers, including Nihon Keizai Shimbun, and individuals were interviewed and reported by Asahi Shimbun and Eastcom News, one of the three major Japanese newspapers.

In June 2003, he was introduced by Zhejiang University as a senior talent and served as a professor in the Department of Business Administration of the School of Management.
