Abstract: Why do children indulge in online games? This paper attempts to make a deeper analysis and reflection on this problem based on the conversations with eight fifth-grade primary school students who love online games, and further find the corresponding solutions.
Keywords: analysis of the causes of online games and coping strategies
By chance, the author found that a considerable number of fifth-grade students in our school showed great interest in online games. According to preliminary statistics, 43 of the 75 students in two classes have played online games. Then we designed a simple and relaxed conversation, adopted a more relaxed way of talking, and created a more open communication atmosphere as much as possible, and had a separate communication with eight people who are keen on online games. The main topics are: How much do you know about online games? What game knowledge do you know? What do you personally think is the benefit you get from the game? What have you lost? When, where and how did you start playing online games? What is your parents' attitude towards you playing online games? Wait a minute. In view of the conversation results of these questions, we have combed, analyzed and thought.
Firstly, it analyzes the reasons why children are obsessed with online games.
1. The influence of social trends
In today's increasingly diversified social value orientation, "fashion" has increasingly become the value pursuit of the public. The appearance of online games, with its unprecedented unique charm, has quickly become an important part of "fashion". Many people are very happy when they talk about online games, which fascinates listeners. As a result, blind obedience and the pursuit of "fashion" value orientation have made more and more people join the ranks of online games. This kind of "fashion" temptation is hard for adults to resist, let alone children whose values are still improving. Of the eight students who communicated with them, except one who was asked by his parents to play 10 ~ 30 minutes at a time, the rest played games for about two hours, and some even reached four or five hours.
2. Parents lack rational understanding of online games.
Although we have only talked with a few students, the results obtained by this survey method of individual conversation are more accurate and explanatory. Isn't it a case worthy of our vigilance that Hu Bin drinks pesticides and Zhang Xiaoyi jumps off a building? Most parents think that children play online games only because computer radiation is harmful to eyes and health; Even if individual parents are aware of the harm of online games, they have not taken effective measures; Some parents even allow their children to play at home. I don't know, it was the connivance of parents that eventually created a child with internet addiction.
3. Bad influence of partners
As we all know, the influence of a partner on a growing child cannot be underestimated. They long for independence, but lack the ability to distinguish right from wrong. They pursue excitement, are good at imitation, and lack sufficient ability to resist temptation; At the same time, children in this age group have a strong rebellious attitude, especially against the discipline of teachers and parents. Compared with teachers' parents, they prefer to communicate with their classmates and relatives' brothers and sisters, and are more willing to accept their influence. The degree of communication between them directly determines their influence. From the information we have obtained, the contact of these children's online games also originated from their own partners without exception. Once the topic of communication between partners points to online games, the effect can be imagined.
4. Ignoring educators
Undoubtedly, teachers who play a leading role in students' development don't know enough about students playing online games, which leads to insufficient attention and intervention. On the one hand, they don't realize that students' addiction to online games will have a great negative impact on learning activities and even the whole class management; On the other hand, some teachers think that even if students are infected with internet addiction, they don't have to bear too much responsibility. Fundamentally speaking, the reason for this situation mainly comes from the current education system, specifically, the evaluation system for teachers. There is no doubt that a teacher is a teacher, not an out-of-touch saint, nor an inexhaustible robot with unlimited potential. He can't help but consider the survival of himself and his family, and the recognition of others for his work effect. For those children who are addicted to the Internet, although their teachers are hard to blame, all the bad consequences are ultimately paid by the children and their parents, as evidenced by the cases of Hu Bin and Zhang Xiaoyi.
The neglect of educators is also manifested in the heavy academic burden of students. Students seldom get emotional experience in online games during their study. On the one hand, they are dull and even suffer too many setbacks in their studies. On the other hand, it is the successful experience of online games. How can children fall in love with online games instead of studying? A classmate admits that playing online games will encounter difficulties, but he can and is willing to ask for help from the Internet. You can enter the question you want to solve, and there will be many answers for you to choose from online, but that is more troublesome. The simple way can be to ask the "dream elf" for help directly. With the help of "dream elves", "it's like my brother standing by my side", and any difficulties will be solved. The result comes from students, but we educators have to think deeply. This is the sorrow of children and the sorrow of our education.
5. Children lack correct values.
In the eyes of children, their enthusiasm for online games is not entirely for seeking excitement and pleasure, but a real pursuit: increasing points or improving grades. One of the students thinks that through online games, he can achieve his career and succeed. For example, I am now qualified to become sworn friends, and I have become one of the five tyrants in Jin Lan. "I want to form a gang, add luster to the gang, and finally become an elder." . Another student thinks that "playing Tetris can exercise intelligence", and so on.
