1. Open the Word document, click the View tab, and then select the Outline tab in the navigation pane.
2. Write down the outline of the paper in the document and typeset it according to the level of chapter, name and section.
3. Select a title in the thesis outline, click the right mouse button and select "Set the selected content as title 1/2/3/4/5/6" in the pop-up menu.
4. In the navigation pane, click the Display Level button on the outline tab to set the display level.
5. Make adjustments as needed. You can expand or close the subheadings under a heading, and you can change their positions by dragging the heading.
6. In the navigation pane, you can click a title to jump to its position in the document.
7. In the navigation pane, you can change the order of titles by dragging, or add or delete titles by copying, cutting and pasting.
8. In the navigation pane, you can use the Indent Up/Down button to adjust the title level.
9. In the navigation pane, you can use the Expand All/Collapse All button to expand or collapse all the titles.
10. The navigation pane can be closed or opened as required, and the size and position of the navigation pane can be set in the View tab.
