/kloc-Derivative financial instruments derived from basic financial instruments such as money, bills, stocks and bonds flourished and innovated constantly in the 1970s. Because of its risk aversion and leverage, it has become an important tool for avoiding financial risks, hedging and seeking speculative income in the financial field, which has also triggered a series of earth-shattering financial turmoil. Therefore, the development of derivative financial instruments has attracted worldwide attention. The accounting problem of how to record, measure, analyze and monitor the risks and benefits of derivative financial instruments has gradually become the focus of financial inventory accounting theory and practice. This paper mainly discusses the accounting treatment of derivative financial instruments from three aspects: accounting confirmation, accounting measurement and information disclosure. Firstly, starting with the concept characteristics of derivative financial instruments, combined with the research results of standard-setting institutions at home and abroad, it is proposed to develop the definitions of assets and liabilities in traditional financial accounting in theory, solve the ownership problem of derivative financial instruments, and lay the foundation for discussing the accounting problems of derivative financial instruments. Then through the introduction and analysis of the relevant provisions of the International Accounting Standards Board and the American Financial Inventory Accounting Standards Board, it is further proposed that derivative financial instruments should adhere to the three steps of initial recognition, subsequent recognition and termination recognition in accounting recognition principle, and adhere to the measurement attribute that fair value is only related to financial instruments in accounting measurement attribute. In addition, this paper also studies several problems about the disclosure of financial statements of derivative financial instruments. Finally, according to China's reality, some suggestions or thoughts are put forward on how to effectively implement China's accounting standards for growth financial instruments.
