The original circuit of SS8 locomotive was designed with automatic phase crossing control circuit, but no automatic phase crossing device was installed. In recent years, with the continuous speed-up of China's railways, the requirements for automatic driving of locomotives are getting higher and higher. In order to meet the requirements, automatic phase crossing devices have been installed and put into use on several locomotives such as SS80095.
