Niu Ren helps you read the magazine about catalysis (which is very helpful for everyone to contribute).

I am interested in today's topic of catalysis and catalysis. Now we have achieved a breakthrough in catalysis, and hope to publish the article "Catalysis Today" in the near future. These two magazines publish conference albums, birthday albums and special collections. In other words, if you attend some conferences, such as the North American Catalytic Society, the American Chemical Society and the International Conference on Homogeneous-Heterogeneous Catalytic Relations, there may be papers to be published. The invited reports of famous people are all published in the special topic of Catalysis and Catalysis Today. Other oral reports and wall newspapers are published in Surface Science and Catalytic Research, and there is no place to publish them. It's good to release these albums, but the disadvantage of these albums is that the waiting time before release is very long, at least one or two years. Because as long as one person contributes slowly, others have to wait for him. Therefore, many people choose to write that kind of "free-body" article, that is, to "supplement" an article with some published old data, some unpublished waste data that cannot be written independently, and some new data that will be published in the future. In terms of rank, I personally feel that the topic of Catalysis is better than that of Catalysis Today, because the former is an aristocratic magazine with better articles, and many famous people publish articles on it. Academic conferences with low rank cannot include the topic of Catalysis to publish conference papers.

There are various articles on the topic of catalysis. Some are like typical scientific research papers, some are like accounts, and some are "free-body" articles. Compared with the articles published in Applied Catalysis, the topic articles in Catalysis are more free and casual. Although some articles reported some new data, there was no experimental part: the original new experiment was stuffed into a small summary as a small summary. The experimental results of some articles are not much different from those published in other catalytic journals, but in the introduction part, a lot of background knowledge is given, and some fashionable cartoon pictures are used to illustrate the ways of atmospheric environmental pollution and the histogram of the number of articles published in this field, obviously using the pictures displayed at the meeting. This is not allowed in other serious catalytic magazines. Other articles either talk about the quantum chemical structure model of the catalyst, or use a single instrument to characterize it, or consult the literature, or simply talk about the synthesis of zeolite molecular sieve, and there is no activity curve. However, many articles about catalysis today introduce the latest experiments. But some photo albums are biased, such as articles on reactors and articles on the application of plasma in catalysis.

Although the name of Catalyst Express is "Catalyst Express", the length of articles is relatively free, ranging from 3 pages to 15 pages. Generally, it requires six pages, but I also saw that some articles seemed to have been rejected by Catalytic Magazine before the publication of Catalytic Express. Personally, I feel that the articles published in Catalytic Express are good and bad, and some poor articles are only equivalent to the level of the last issue of China and chinese journal of catalysis. Most of the articles are novel, but the experiments are not comprehensive. For example, some articles only have kinetic curves, some articles on organic catalysis only use tables to tell readers what reaction and how much yield, and some articles are not characterized by catalysts.

Applied catalysis A: Generally speaking, it is more suitable for publishing reports. The new catalysts are used in reactions related to industrial production, such as Fischer-Tropsch synthesis, hydrodesulfurization, water gas shift, steam reforming and alkylation. One direction that is heating up at present is organic catalysis of solid catalysts, such as selective oxidation of fine chemicals and chiral catalysis. Generally speaking, if the author can say in the article that a chemical company recently disclosed the process of a certain reaction, but did not report the catalyst formula in detail, this article will study this reaction in detail, which will arouse readers' interest. Sometimes catalysis A: General also reports the catalysis of modified mesoporous molecular sieves and composite oxides. I have carefully read "Applied Catalysis A: General Introduction" published on June 27th, 2007, and found that many articles in it have no special discussion part. Generally speaking, the typical writing style is as follows: report a new catalyst with industrial application value, test the effect of the catalyst under different conditions, characterize it with various instruments, and make a preliminary explanation.

Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical and Applied Catalysis A: Generally, it is homogeneous, but the difference is that Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical publications are mostly homogeneous catalysis and organometallic catalysis. The encouraging directions are ionic liquid catalysis, supercritical catalysis and emulsion catalysis. The article on heterogeneous catalysis published in this paper is not much different from the article published in Applied Catalysis A: General. The subtle difference is that if the reaction is a probe reaction that others are not interested in, such as cumene cracking and isopropanol dehydration, it is more suitable for Molecular chinese journal of catalysis A: Chemistry. The catalysis of immobilized homogeneous catalyst also applies to Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemistry. If only the synthesis of catalyst is reported, the article that does not report the reactivity is not suitable to be published in Molecular chinese journal of catalysis A: Chemistry. Photocatalysis is very popular now, and many articles are flooding. For the photocatalytic articles that failed in the application of Catalysis B: Environment, we can consider sending them to Molecular Catalysis A: Chemistry. Journal of Total Sensory Molecular Catalysis A: Chemistry is relatively simple, and general articles are published. In recent years, the editorial department has adjusted the direction of running journals and paid more attention to mechanism research. Articles on preparation and characterization of pure catalysts (without detailed reaction) are not welcome, so it must be difficult to submit papers, and the number of articles published in each issue is much less.

Applied catalysis B: Environment mainly publishes environmental catalysis, such as automobile exhaust catalysis, ozone decomposition, catalytic combustion of chlorinated organic matter, wet oxidation of polluted water, photocatalysis, hydrodechlorination and so on. I have never voted for catalytic communication company. The requirement is that only 35 documents can be cited at most, and the number cannot exceed 5 chapters, without supporting materials.

Catalysis Magazine is the best magazine in catalysis field, and it is also a magazine frequented by celebrities. Browsing through every issue of the magazine, I found that there are always some big heads on it, such as Iglesia, Le Xie, Baker, Devosse, Jacobs, Kolma, Niemanz Wildritt, Davis, Lee and others. It is difficult for ordinary juniors to publish articles. Recently, however, many China's names have appeared in magazines. By reading some latest literature, it is found that Catalysis has maintained a meticulous working tradition, and a new trend is to emphasize novelty more. For example, some material workers synthesize CeO2 with various shapes by material science methods and measure its catalytic activity; Some materials workers use materials to wrap metal particles in zeolite "capsules" to achieve specific catalytic purposes; Some catalytic workers use emulsion medium for chiral catalysis; Some catalytic workers have studied the organic catalytic reaction of gold catalyst, which has never been reported before, broadening the application of gold catalyst; Some catalytic workers say that gold bars also have catalytic activity, breaking the previous prejudice. These are all innovations. These articles may not have much data, but they are innovative and can be published. However, this kind of article is more general, the language is easy to understand, suitable for the public taste, and a little close to JACS' long style. It can be said that some articles in Catalytic Research Bulletin were published after Angew Chemie failed to vote, which is innovative, otherwise the reviewers will say that you can vote for Catalytic Express. As for the long article, the photocatalytic effect is good, and there are only a few activity curves, so it is impossible to vote for that magazine. Generally speaking, you have to work hard for a year before you can publish a long chinese journal of catalysis.
