Gansu Province, referred to as "Gan" or "Long" for short, is a provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), with Lanzhou as its capital. By 2023, the total population of Gansu will reach 26.37 million, accounting for about 1.9% of the total population of the country, which will continue to maintain the previous growth momentum and provide a strong impetus for Gansu's economic development.

There are 13 kinds of operas in Gansu province, namely, Qin Opera, Long Opera, Quzi Opera, Minqin Quzi Opera, Longnan Shadow Play, Lei Yu Lantern Opera, Lingtai Lamp Opera, Gaoshan Opera, Bantai Opera, Nanmute Tibetan Opera, Hu Mei Opera and Henan Opera. Among them, Shaanxi Opera, Dragon Opera, Quzi Opera, Minqin Quzi Opera and Hu Mei Performance Group have relatively more employees and rich repertoire creation, which are active and stable operas in the province.
