China's translation career has experienced five climaxes so far, namely, Buddhist scripture translation from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Tang and Song Dynasties, scientific translation from the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties, western translation from the Opium War to the May 4th Movement, eastern and western literature translation from the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China to the Cultural Revolution, and the period when translations in various fields have blossomed since the 1970s.

1. China during the translation period from Han Dynasty to Tang and Song Dynasties.

There is a saying in the history of translation that there are three masters of translation classics, namely Kumarajiva, Zhen Yan and Xuanzang.

2. Xu Zhizao and Xue Fengzuo in the period of sci-tech translation in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.

3. Lin Shu and Yan Fu in Western translation from the Opium War to the May 4th Movement.

From the May 4th Movement to before the founding of the People's Republic of China, China's translation activities made great contributions to the spread of Marxism-Leninism and world literature in China, such as Marxism-Leninism classic communist party Declaration (translated by Chen Wangdao), Marx's Critique of Political Economy (translated by Li Da) and world literary masterpiece Shakespeare's Plays (translated by Liang Shiqiu).

4. Sun Zhili's translation of eastern and western literature from the early days of the People's Republic of China to the Cultural Revolution.
