Wu Shuoxian's Main Contributions
Wu Shuoxian has been engaged in architectural and environmental acoustics research for a long time. The theory and method of urban traffic noise prediction, simulation and noise prevention planning are systematically put forward, the principle of acoustic virtual boundary is expounded, and the concise formula of traffic noise in reverberation field is derived, which solves the unsolved problem in the world for more than 20 years. Complete the first case of linkage analysis of indoor sound quality by building aided design software and acoustic software. A new evaluation index and formula of hall loudness are put forward, and the sound quality of the hall is evaluated by fuzzy set theory. A new simulation calculation model of diffusion sound field and an improved method and formula for measuring the diffusion coefficient of interface acoustic energy are put forward, and the evaluation method system of built environment, human behavior mode and post-use evaluation is studied, and the theoretical system of subjective evaluation of built environment is initially established.

Wu Shuoxian has undertaken more than 50 engineering acoustic designs such as Dongpo Grand Theatre and Great Hall of the People. The project "Acoustic Virtual Boundary Principle and Traffic Noise Prediction Theory" won the third prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Education Commission 1996, and the second prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress Award in 2002 (the first finisher). He was invited to give lectures in 23 countries and regions, cooperate in research, give an invitation report at important international academic conferences, and was elected as the chairman of the international conference branch and the chairman of the international conference. Research on Key Technologies of Sustainable Design of Subtropical Public Buildings was the only innovative team of the Ministry of Education at that time (20 10-20 12), and Architectural Physics and Building Equipment was approved as a national excellent course.

Wu Shuoxian is an active advocate of building technology science and green building in China, and the only academician of China Academy of Sciences in the field of building technology science. As the director of the only national key laboratory of building science in China, he played an important role in the establishment, operation and evaluation of the laboratory and played a leading role in the industry. As a member of China Academy of Sciences Science Think Tank Construction Committee, he presided over the consulting projects of China Academy of Sciences, such as attaching importance to the scientific development of modern building technology, promoting green buildings, promoting energy conservation and emission reduction, and improving the living environment, which was highly valued by the top leaders of the central government and played an important role in the promulgation of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development's green building action plan. These works have played an important role in changing the tendency of China's architectural circles to emphasize art over technology and appearance over quality, and promoting the development of China's architectural technology science and green buildings.

Wu Shuoxian also vigorously promoted China's traditional culture, attached importance to popular science work, and published poetry collections, calligraphy collections and popular science works, which is a model of attaching equal importance to science and technology and literature and art.
