Cao's scientific research
Mainly engaged in the research of optical functional ceramics (mainly laser transparent ceramics) and the growth of III-V semiconductor compound films.

Scientific research projects undertaken:

At present, he is mainly responsible for the major basic scientific research plan of the Ministry of Science and Technology (973), the major scientific research plan of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the major directional projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the major equipment independent development projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the "Hundred Talents Program" projects of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the key projects of the Fujian Science and Technology Plan, the cooperation projects between Fujian and Hong Kong, and the major special projects of the Fujian Institute of Materials. 1. led our research group in Fujian Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and took the lead in realizing the single-disk single-side pumped Nd:YAG laser transparent ceramics100W continuous laser power output in China;

2. During my postdoctoral work in the University of Hong Kong, I realized the controllable preparation of InN quantum dots by molecular beam epitaxy.

3. During my work in Chen Xiaolong Research Group of Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, I was the first to report that gallium nitride single crystals with a size of 5mm were prepared by molten salt method under normal pressure and mild conditions below 1000 degrees.

4.
