People who have developed bodhicitta should try to recite the Sanju Jing three times during the day and three times at night (note: Sanju Jing is a sutra that brings together three kinds of good dharma, that is, the confession of thirty-five Buddhas) [2]. The best time is once in the morning, once at noon and once in the afternoon, once at 6 am, once after noon and once at night. But get up in the middle of the night and get up to carry your back when you sleep. Many people don't have this habit now. Don't say it is midnight. Even before going to bed at night, most people don't read anything. As Hua Zhi Rinpoche said, it is not good to fall asleep like a yak. It is very necessary to read the Confessions of Thirty-five Buddhas at least once a day. Because in the process of learning Buddhism, we often break big and small commandments. Even if we don't break any precepts, there are many filth and sins in the self-continuation from beginning to end. Repentance of karma is very, very important.
Don't talk about us, the master Zong Kaba, the incarnation of Manjusri Bodhisattva, didn't urge us to repent our karma until after the age of 38. Every day, I hit my head while reading Confessions of Thirty-Five Buddhas, and finally my whole palm and knee were worn out. Someone said, "I don't need to make any confession now, just look at my heart." But historically, a generation of masters like Master Zong Kaba, Innocent Venerable Master and Almighty Maipeng Rinpoche have been diligent in repentance all their lives. Why shouldn't we repent?
In particular, "Confessions of Thirty-five Buddhas" has boundless merits. The version in our "Larong Chants" is taken from the decision of Puni Sutra. In this ceremony, "Tathagata should provide correct information ..." is not added to every Buddha, but is generally added according to the Gelug tradition, which also stems from an experience of Master Zong Kaba: when the master first repented, he often felt that all 35 buddhas seemed to be blessed, but none of them he saw. The master felt very strange and asked the Lord Manjusri Bodhisattva. The Lord Bodhisattva told him, "Because the name of the Buddha you mentioned is incomplete and the merits of chanting Buddha are incomplete, you can't see the perfection of all the buddhas. In the future, we must recite' Tathagata, Repentance, Thoroughness, Conscience, Good Death, Secular Understanding, Supreme Master Tiaofu, Teacher of Heaven and Man, Buddha, Buddha' in front of the Buddha's name, so that we can see the Buddha statues all over our body. " From then on, the master followed the teachings of this deity, and every time he practiced confession, he used chanting as the method. Sure enough, he saw the perfect phase of the 35 Buddhas and worshipped the golden light with great solemnity. Later, a painter wanted to draw thirty-five Buddha statues, but he didn't know the body color and fingerprints of the Buddha statues, so he asked the master. After the invitation of the master, thirty-five Buddha statues appeared in the realm, and immediately told the painter how to paint according to what he saw. This is recorded in Zong Kaba's biography.
When the Gelugpa read Confessions of Thirty-Five Buddhas, ten names were added to the names in front, so it took a long time to recite them. Other sects, such as Nyima Sect and Kagyu Sect, do not have this tradition, although many gurus recite it every day or even backwards. Guru ruyibao did not advocate it before. Therefore, if you want to teach yourself which sect, it is not wrong to read it according to the sect. In dzogchen March, Hua Zhi Rinpoche said that many people in the late French era were extremely inferior to Buddhism in satirizing secret rituals, so it is better to read Confessions of Thirty-five Buddhas and Pu Xian Wish with a pure heart.
So don't think that you are clean and enlightened soon, but repent more. Read the confessions of the Thirty-Five Buddhas at least once a day and make it clear 21 times. In fact, this is not particularly difficult, and some crimes can be ruled out. It is not good to walk, live, sit and lie down without looking at anything. To recite some heart mantra or Buddha's name, you are often used to holding prayer beads. Some time ago, I also said that Taoist friends who want to learn the theory of entering the profession, if it is inconvenient to bring them to work, will bring rosary at the party. After all, this is a Buddhist gathering, not a human gathering. If you have a prayer wheel, don't forget to turn it. Gradually, your behavior will become like Buddhism. Otherwise, although many people say that they are studying, they are far behind the practitioners in quiet places. Of course, it is amazing that you have the courage to study in that environment. It is really valuable to spend all your rest time studying Buddhism every week. Many Taoist friends here are usually very diligent. On Sunday, they seem to be too relaxed and do nothing good for a day, which is not good either. Moreover, some lay people outside are very busy with housework and have to study Buddhism on weekends, and they never have time to rest. It's a little hard, but it's meaningful.
In addition to confessing according to the confessions of 35 Buddhas, we must rely on the images of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas to cultivate bodhicitta, and we must have four pairs of abilities to eliminate our sins. The Buddhist scripture says, "If a person is in the sea, if his boat is damaged, he will drown, but if he grabs the broken boat board, he can reach the shore smoothly.". By the same token, a person who violates the fundamental precepts has already fallen into hell, but if he repents, he also has a chance to get rid of it. " Especially "Li Bojing" also said: "If you confess according to the 35 Buddhas and repent day and night, even if you commit five crimes, you can be clean."
