There is no difference in the paper itself. Journal papers are just business papers. You have a fee or you pay for it to be published (depending on the quality of your paper). Your tutor probably thinks that you are going to write another paper as your graduation thesis. Please explain it to him clearly. However, you should be clear that if most of your papers are revised by your teacher, does he want to be a collaborator when he goes to the journal?
