The Yuyao Building in Jiaxing, which was built in the Jin Dynasty after the Five Dynasties and rebuilt in the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, was once the favorite of Qianlong, and it was saturated with rich Jiangnan beauty in the smog. He visited Jiangnan six times and eight times, and wrote more than twenty poems in praise of the beauty of Jiangnan scenery. Then, in the forty-six years of Qianlong, he personally chose the site and ordered his ministers to imitate the architecture of Yu Yan, the summer resort of Hu Chenghu.

However, history has taken a major turning point here. It turns out that in the later prosperous period, officials took bribes, courtiers were extravagant, and literary inquisitions were built in Daxing, either because of old age and physical decline, or because of exultation, or because of the insularity and selfishness of feudal rulers, power shielding and neglect of official management. This greatly shook their ruling foundation. Later, the emperors Jiaqing, Daoguang and Xianfeng ruled the country badly, and their national strength was worse than that of the previous generation. By the time Cixi and Guangxu were arrested, the country was as weak as the two houses of Rong Ning written by Cao Xueqin, although the shell was still there. Ganlong once said that their original intention of building the summer resort was: "My ancestors built this summer resort outside the Great Wall, not for their own travel, but to get married forever!" Its significance lies in the political purpose of "integrating the inside and outside into a solid business". However, since the completion of Yanyu Building, the summer resort has not only failed to add new building facilities, but has become increasingly dilapidated, becoming a royal "royal tour" place and refuge, so that Jiaqing and Xianfeng emperors died here. This is really a great irony. Today, their so-called "dragon bed" is still preserved in the palace area. Before his death here, Xianfeng personally signed the Beijing Treaty signed by the Qing government with Britain, France and Russia respectively, which recognized the effectiveness of the Sino-Russian Treaty of Love, and made China lose a large territory and sovereignty.
