Biomedical engineering can promote the development and progress of modern medicine. Hospitals at all levels in China should define the scope of work of medical engineering, improve the status of medical engineering, improve the management system of medical equipment, strengthen the training of professionals, and promote the construction and development of biomedical engineering. Next is my biomedical engineering graduation thesis, I hope it will help you ~

Biomedical engineering is a new discipline integrating engineering, physics, biology, medicine and other disciplines. Its main purpose is to prevent and treat diseases and ensure human health. Biomedical engineering is committed to developing new biological products and materials and improving medical technology, and occupies an important position in the field of modern medicine. This paper will trace the development of biomedical engineering in China, put forward some problems in the development process, and provide some feasible strategies to solve these problems.

Key words: biomedical engineering; Discipline development; discipline construction

The rapid development of science and technology such as electronics, optoelectronics, computer technology, physics, chemistry and precision instrument manufacturing has greatly promoted modern medicine. Biomedical engineering is a new branch of medicine under this technical background. Biomedical engineering uses modern engineering technology to study the human body, analyze the mechanism of diseases and formulate effective treatment measures, which greatly improves the treatment level of modern medicine. However, in the process of the construction and development of biomedical engineering discipline in China, some problems have also been encountered, which must be solved in order to promote the development of biomedical engineering discipline.

1 development of biomedical engineering

The history of biomedical engineering can be traced back to the 1950s, and originated in the United States. As soon as this subject came into being, it quickly attracted the attention of all countries in the world. 1965, the international Federation of medical and bioengineering was established, and later it was renamed as the international biomedical engineering association [1]. Biomedical engineering has been paid attention to by countries all over the world because of its broad application prospects and huge economic and social benefits. Biomedical engineering links the technological achievements of modern science with medicine, which greatly improves the level of disease prevention and treatment. In the early 1970s, advanced countries in Europe and America set up research departments of this discipline, which were responsible for the development and construction of biomedical engineering. However, biomedical engineering in China started late, and its application scope is relatively narrow, which is limited to the storage and maintenance of hospital equipment and the procurement of medical materials. There is still much room for improvement in the discipline construction of biomedical engineering.

2 Problems in Biomedical Engineering in China

In China, the discipline construction of biomedical engineering started late, and its application is also at the primary level. The reasons for this situation mainly come from the following two aspects. First of all, the institutional problems left over from history. In hospitals at all levels in China, the competent department of biomedical engineering has no unified name and clear scope of responsibilities. According to their own understanding, hospitals at all levels set up the names, responsibilities, staffing and subordinate units of relevant departments, which is very arbitrary. Biomedical engineering departments in some hospitals are only responsible for the procurement and maintenance of medical equipment, while similar departments in other hospitals are not only responsible for the procurement of medical equipment and materials, but also for the procurement of daily necessities. In some hospitals, the biomedical engineering department is managed by the medical department, while in others, it is listed as the management scope of logistics services. This confusion in discipline construction has greatly hindered the development of biomedical engineering, leading to people's prejudice against biomedical engineering and their failure to understand its significance. Second, the staffing problem. In order to facilitate the maintenance of medical equipment, many hospitals in China have hired some professional maintenance personnel such as electricians and assemblers when setting up biomedical engineering related departments. However, with the development of modern medical technology, medical equipment is becoming more and more sophisticated, and the level of these maintenance personnel is far from meeting the needs of biomedical engineering. If the hospital can't strengthen the training of employees and establish a talent team with solid theoretical knowledge and strong practical ability, which can standardize the application of modern medical technology, it will lead to redundancy of personnel, and many people with insufficient professional ability will occupy their posts, making it difficult to introduce real talents and promote the development of biomedical engineering.

3 China Biomedical Engineering Development Strategy

3. 1 Define the responsibility scope of biomedical engineering

In some countries with developed biomedical engineering, medical treatment, nursing and medical engineering have become three main aspects of hospital development, and these three departments have become the technical system of modern medicine [2]. However, in China, the status of medical engineering is far from equal to medical treatment and nursing, and its application scope is still relatively narrow, and its role has not been fully exerted. In order to change this situation, Chinese hospitals must adjust their concepts, strengthen the construction and management of biomedical engineering, clearly define the scope of work of medical engineering departments, not only responsible for the procurement, installation and maintenance of medical equipment, but also do the following work. First of all, the safety performance debugging of medical equipment. For example, at present, most of the advanced medical equipment used in hospitals in China rely on foreign imports. However, when hospitals introduce equipment, they often only pay attention to the technical level and price of the equipment, but ignore the plug problem of medical equipment. Due to the different plug standards of medical equipment at home and abroad, ignoring the plug problem can easily lead to the failure of advanced medical equipment imported at a high price to be applied in China. In addition, there are the safety level control of medical equipment and the mutual interference between equipment, which are the work contents of medical engineering departments. Secondly, the maintenance of medical equipment. The maintenance of medical equipment includes static maintenance and dynamic maintenance. Static maintenance is to establish the maintenance system of medical equipment and rectify the storage environment of equipment; Dynamic maintenance is real-time maintenance according to the use, consumption and failure of equipment, such as checking the running state of equipment, diagnosing and repairing faults in time, and replacing seriously damaged parts.

3.2 Improve the medical equipment management system

Many large hospitals in China have all kinds of advanced medical equipment, and the total fixed assets can even reach millions or tens of millions. However, in these hospitals, there is a common problem: only paying attention to the procurement of medical equipment, ignoring the management of medical equipment, and the management system of medical equipment is not perfect enough to give full play to the maximum performance of medical equipment, which leads to the idleness or damage of medical equipment. In this regard, Chinese hospitals should actively improve the management system of medical equipment in order to maximize the performance of medical equipment. For example, all medical equipment in a hospital should be centralized for management, instead of dividing medical equipment into various departments and renting it when each department needs to use the equipment. This can effectively avoid the idle state of medical equipment and facilitate the unified maintenance and maintenance of medical equipment.

3.3 Strengthen the cultivation of professional talents.

Biomedical engineering has high technology content and is closely related to many high-tech achievements. Therefore, the practitioners of biomedical engineering should also have high scientific quality, and at the same time, they should be able to operate all kinds of advanced medical equipment correctly and normatively, and make an analysis report on the health status of patients [3]. In order to meet the needs of the development of biomedical engineering, hospitals must strengthen the construction of talent team and focus on cultivating biomedical engineering professionals. Hospitals should cooperate with major universities, establish a talent introduction mechanism, strengthen the training of internal employees, formulate an incentive system, and improve the learning enthusiasm of employees.

4 conclusion

Biomedical engineering can promote the development and progress of modern medicine. Hospitals at all levels in China should define the scope of work of medical engineering, improve the status of medical engineering, improve the management system of medical equipment, strengthen the training of professionals, and promote the construction and development of biomedical engineering.
