At present, EPDM rubber foaming materials mostly use low reinforced carbon black filler, which can avoid the problems of difficult dispersion and high viscosity caused by fine carbon black. However, there is an increasing demand for light-colored rubber products in industry. Therefore, in this paper, silica is used as the reinforcing filler of rubber, and the preparation technology of EPDM foamed rubber and the influence of molding conditions on the foaming process are studied. Subsequently, the dosage of accelerator, filler, foaming agent and paraffin oil was changed, and the vulcanization performance, mechanical properties and scanning electron microscope were analyzed. The effects of various factors on the structure and properties of foamed materials were discussed. The influence laws of various formula factors on foaming were summarized in order to find the most suitable formula dosage.
Finally, we also studied the compression behavior of EPDM foam with different densities through the compression stress-strain curve, and analyzed the energy absorption characteristics of EPDM foam with energy absorption capacity W, energy absorption efficiency E and ideal parameter I.
