Automatic generation of article directory: 1. Set the title format 1. Select all the first-level titles in the article; 2. At the left end of the Format toolbar, click "Title 1" in the Style list. Imitate steps 1 and 2, and set the format of secondary and tertiary headers as header 2 and header 3. 2. Automatically generate the directory 1. Position the cursor to the left of the first line of the article on page 1 (the table of contents should be in front of the article); 2. Execute the menu command "Insert/Reference/Index and Directory" to open the "Index Directory" dialog box; 3. Click the "Contents" tab in the dialog box, make relevant settings, and then click "OK" to automatically generate the article contents. Friendly reminder: the directory page number should be different from the text page number. Position the cursor at the end of the table of contents page, perform "Insert/Delimiter/Next Page/OK" operation, and insert a page break between the table of contents and the text; Execute the View/Header and Footer command, position the cursor at the footer of the first page of the text, and click the Link to Previous Page button on the Header and Footer toolbar to link the footer of the text with the footer of the table of contents. Execute the Insert/Page Number command, select the page number format in Format, select the starting page number as 1, and click OK. At this point, the page number of the text is inserted. If the directory is multi-page, you can choose a page number format different from the original page number when inserting the page number. Of course, if the table of contents has only one page, you don't need to insert a page number.
