Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is an important traffic node in eastern China. The upper floor is a highway bridge with a length of 4589 meters and a lane width of 15 meters, which can accommodate four carts at the same time. There are sidewalks with a width of more than 2 meters on both sides, connecting the cross-river highways such as 104 national highway and 3 12 national highway, which is one of the main roads connecting Nanjing Jiangbei New District and Jiangnan main city. The lower floor is a double-track railway bridge with a width of 14m and a total length of 6772m, connecting the Jin-Pu railway and the Shanghai-Nanjing railway trunk line, which is the hub and lifeline of the national north-south traffic. This bridge consists of a main bridge and an approach bridge. The main bridge has 9 piers with a span of 10, a length of1576m and a maximum span of160m. The navigable clearance width is 120m, and the navigable clearance height under the bridge is 24m above the designed maximum navigable water level, which can pass 5000t seagoing ships.
Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is a super-large bridge with both railway and highway. The railway bridge is 6772 meters long and the highway bridge is 4589 meters long. Under the bridge, ships of 10,000 tons can pass. Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is the third bridge across the Yangtze River after Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and Chongqing Baishatuo Yangtze River Bridge, and it is also the largest of the three bridges. The bridge and railway bridge will formally connect the two railway lines, namely, Jinpu and Shanghai-Nanjing, which can directly go from Beijing to Shanghai. Since then, beijing-shanghai railway's connection has not been blocked by the Yangtze River.
