Function of bogie
Bogies can ensure that freight cars run safely on straight and curved sections within the specified speed range.

Bogies are used in vehicles to increase the load, length and volume of vehicles and improve the running speed of trains to meet the needs of railway transportation development. Under normal operating conditions, the car body can sit on the bogie reliably, and the rolling of the wheels along the track is converted into the translation of the car body along the line through the bearing device.

The structure of the bogie should be convenient to install the spring damping device, so that it has good damping characteristics, so as to ease the interaction between the vehicle and the line, reduce vibration and impact, reduce dynamic stress, and improve the running stability and safety of the vehicle.

History of bogies

Bogies 202 are frameless C-axle bogies produced by Sifang Factory for 22 passenger cars. The construction speed is 120km/h, and the manufacturing started from 1959. It adopts cast steel H-frame, guide post axle box positioning device, rocker bolster spring suspension device, secondary round spring, rocker bolster spring refueling shock absorber, suspended brake shoe foundation braking and so on. Bogies were discontinued on 1986.

In 1970s, Sifang Factory developed 206 U-shaped bogie and Puzhen Factory developed 209 H-shaped bogie. Type 206 bogie adopts U-shaped frame with concave side beam, dry friction guide column axle box positioning device, small rocker bolster spring suspension device with tie rod, double lifting ring type single-section bolster arm external suspension and suspension brake shoe foundation braking device, etc. Reliable structure, stable operation, less wear and convenient maintenance.

Type 209 bogie was developed by Puzhen Factory on the basis of Type 205 bogie, and mass production began in 1975. H-shaped frame, guide post axle box positioning device, rocker bolster spring suspension device, long suspender, external suspension of the frame, two high round springs, bolster spring with oil shock absorber, suspended brake shoe foundation braking device, etc. 1980, a 209T bogie with axle box positioning structure and traction rod device with elastic positioning sleeve is produced. On this basis, the 209P disc brake bogie is also produced.
