The following introduces the typesetting skills of the paper from several aspects.
First, the layout of the front part
The front part of the paper mainly includes cover, cover 2, title page, directory page and so on.
1, cover
It's better to make a longer paper cover to attend the awards.
On the one hand, the cover provides appropriate information for the paper, on the other hand, it plays a role in protecting the inner core. The cover page should usually include the following information:
Project level, year and number, title, author, unit, completion time and other information. If there are other regulations, they shall be implemented according to the regulations (for example, some awards cannot be signed, while others require mailing address, postal code and contact telephone number, etc.). ). Project information is generally arranged in the upper left corner of the cover, with a font number of five and a box. Headings can generally be arranged in bold letters from 1 to No.2, with the middle and the top, preferably within one line. If there is a subtitle, it should be separated from the main title by one or two lines, arranged in a font different from the main title, and the font size should be reduced by one or two lines. The signature should be centered under the title, with font No.4 to No.3, and the unit, mailing address and completion time should be arranged in the center under the cover. Usually, there is no need for color illustrations or basemaps on the cover. If you make a base map or insert some pictures, you should be careful not to be too fancy or flashy. The title is always the most eye-catching part.
2. Seal II
The second cover is mostly blank. If necessary, you can put some contents on the second cover: expressing gratitude to the units or individuals who have guided your research, summarizing the sentences of the paper, theories or famous sayings closely related to the paper, etc.
3. Title page
The title page, also called the title page, is basically the same as the cover page, or some more specific information is added to the existing information on the cover page. The typesetting format is also roughly the same as the cover.
4. Table of Contents Page
For longer papers, a table of contents page should be arranged for the judges to read. Generally, the first-level title or first-level title or second-level title in the text is selected as the title of the directory, and the page number is marked, and the page number should be aligned to the right. The serial number of the title should be consistent with the serial number in the text. Generally, the table of contents should not be too complicated and occupy multiple pages.
Second, the typesetting of the main part
The main part generally includes title, signature, abstract, keywords, text, notes and references.
1, title
The font size of the title should be thicker, two or three times larger than the text, and should be arranged in the middle after two lines in the header. If there is a subtitle, it should be centered under the main title, with a dash in front and a smaller font. The font should be different from the main title and not thicker than the main title.
Step 2 sign
A blank line under the title is arranged in the middle, and the font size is slightly larger than the main text. The font is often italicized to distinguish it from the main text.
3. Summary
Abstract is a brief statement of the contents of the report and paper, without comments and annotations, generally 200-300 words. The location of the abstract is generally one line below the signature. It should be arranged into paragraphs, and the font should be different from that of the imitation song style or regular script, with two spaces at the beginning and two words indented at both ends of the paragraph. Usually, the word "abstract" is marked in bold and square brackets at the beginning of the paragraph.
4. Keywords
For each report and paper, choose 3-8 words as keywords and add another line below the abstract. The arrangement of font size and "keywords" is the same as that in the abstract. Generally, each keyword is distinguished by semicolons or spaces, and there is no punctuation at the end.
5. Text
The text font is usually Song Ti, and the font size is mostly No.5 or No.4, with two spaces at the beginning of each paragraph (including titles at all levels). The line spacing is generally about 3 mm (Word generally uses 1.5 times the line spacing).
Generally, it is necessary to change the font of the first two or three titles in the text, such as the first title in bold, the second title in italics, and the third title in imitation of Song Dynasty. First-level titles are usually typeset with larger font size or larger numbers, and blank lines can be used for typesetting between major levels. If the titles of books at all levels are continuously coded with Arabic numerals, such as "1", "1.2" and "3.5. 1", the titles of books at all levels are written in the upper left box. For the writing method of serial numbers and the arrangement of charts, please refer to two articles: the writing method of paper serial numbers and the arrangement method of paper charts.
6. Notes and references
The font size of "notes" and "references" is generally the same as the title, and the font size of specific notes and references is generally smaller than the text by half a number or a typesetting. For specific requirements, please refer to the two articles "How to write notes" and "How to write references".
Third, the layout of the annex.
Attachments are related articles, documents, charts, indexes, materials, questionnaire contents, exam topics, etc. , attached to the text. Many of them are too lengthy or not closely related, so they should not be listed in the main body of the paper. The typesetting of attachments is generally tighter than the text of the paper, the font size should be equal to or smaller than the text of the paper, and other typesetting is roughly the same as the text of the paper. When there are many attachments, there should also be an attachment directory on the attachment start page.
Four, other matters needing attention in typesetting
1. If there are not many pages in the paper, there is no need to have a front part, or just add a cover.
2, cover, title, etc. Should not be too fancy, generally simple and generous as well.
3. If the paper is thick, you can consider typesetting and printing on both sides.
4. For papers with more page numbers, you can consider using headers to mark the title and hierarchical title of the paper, such as one-page article title and two-page hierarchical title.
5. No matter the length of the paper, the page number must be marked. Page numbers start from the first page of the text. For example, 1 page can be marked in the middle or right of the header or footer. The front, cover and back cover of the paper are not numbered. Attachments are generally numbered separately.
6. The background color of the back cover should be consistent with that of the cover, and it should be associated with the cover if the base map is used.
7. If staples are used for binding, the two staples should be located at the quarter of the upper and lower edges respectively, and the left indent should be 1cm.
