Last year, every family that gave birth to a boy in Cenxi would hang red lanterns in ancestral temples and villages on the first day after the Spring Festival, and invite friends and relatives to drink and celebrate. With the liberalization of the national two-child policy, more and more families have boys, so it is impossible for relatives and friends to drink lanterns and have wedding banquets on the tenth day of the first month, so some relatives and friends began to hold lantern weddings from the sixth day.
The unique lantern festival in Cenxi, Guangxi, is also called the champion lantern. It is not that Cenxi people prefer boys to girls, but that before the Qing Dynasty, only men were allowed to take the imperial examinations and won the first place, while women were only allowed to stay in the boudoir.
Every year, the sixth day of the sixth lunar month is the "Laundry Day" for Yao Hong compatriots. Yao Hong compatriots held a "Dressing Festival" celebration in Jinkeng Terrace Scenic Spot, Heping Township, Longsheng Autonomous County, Guangxi, which attracted thousands of tourists from home and abroad. What is particularly spectacular is that Yao compatriots outlined the wonderful scenery of "Seven Stars Accompanying the Moon" with ten thousand torches that night, and set off fireworks on terraces for the first time. That night, Longsheng was a sleepless night.
The sixth day of June is also a new festival. Families in rural areas use new rice to make rice noodles and cook rice, which is called "eating new". There is also a clothing festival called "June 6th, basking in red and green". It's already hot, so people turn out their winter clothes for collection.
