The research content of positive psychology mainly includes three levels: first, positive emotions and experiences at the subjective level, second, positive personality traits at the individual level, and third, positive social organization system at the group level.
Positive emotions and experiences
Positive emotions and experiences are one of the most concerned centers in the research of positive psychology. Positive experience refers to two kinds of psychological states in which individuals recall the past satisfactorily, feel the present happily and leisurely, and are full of hope for the future. Studies show that positive experiences can expand people's abilities, establish and enhance people's personal resources, such as enhancing people's physical strength, intelligence and social coordination, while negative emotions will reduce these resources, and positive emotions will help eliminate negative emotions. [2] At the same time, research shows that there is a consistent synchronous relationship between positive emotions, that is, when experiencing some positive emotions, it is easier to induce other positive emotions. For example, a person with a happy family tends to work more smoothly, and people with close friends tend to be happier. [2]
At the same time, positive experience also includes the study of subjective well-being and happiness. Subjective well-being refers to the individual's own feelings about his own happiness and quality of life. Subjective well-being is the core of individual positive emotional experience and the highest goal of life.
(B) positive personality traits
According to the viewpoint of positive psychology, traditional personality psychology has been paying too much attention to the problem personality or personality disorder for a long time, but it knows nothing about the formation of good personality. Positive psychology, on the other hand, emphasizes the study of human strength and virtue.
Seligman and others have conducted cross-cultural research all over the world, showing that there are six kinds of human virtues: wisdom, courage, kindness, justice, self-denial and self-transcendence, including 24 kinds of virtues: creativity, interest, openness, love of learning, wisdom, courage, diligence, honesty, enthusiasm, love, kindness, social intelligence, loyalty, fairness and leadership. [7] Positive psychology is to study how to make human beings discover and establish these personality strengths and virtues, and learn to use these strengths to prevent and treat human mental diseases and make human life more valuable.
Among the positive personality traits, optimism is more concerned. As mentioned above, optimism can also be cultivated through learning, which makes people more inclined to be optimistic when dealing with problems, which can not only avoid mental illness, but also enhance people's subjective well-being.
(C) a positive social organization system
Similar to "visitor-centered therapy", positive psychology pays more attention to creating positive organizational systems, such as democratic social system, effective and sound family functions, free exploration environment and positive and harmonious social groups. "Visitor-centered therapy" tries to create an unconditional atmosphere of positive concern, so that visitors' distorted self can be repaired, while positive psychology tries to create such a positive social organization system.
