The writer's life and works are not isolated, but shape and influence each other. A writer is a vast world, and a writer is also a simple history of literature. A writer who has deeply participated in the literary evolution of an era must have a strange scene in his works, in which his personal inner impression is intertwined with the experience of the era. This is especially true for Mo Yan, who has won the Nobel Prize in Literature Prize.
20121June 1 1, Mo Yan won the Nobel Prize in Literature; 65438+ 10 65438+May, Henan Literature and Art Publishing House reprinted Mo Yan's Story with the fastest speed, which was immediately closely followed by the market. The second edition of Mo Yan Review provides readers with a window to understand Mo Yan and see how Mo Yan grew from managing ink to Mo Yan.
Recently, Hainan Daily reporter contacted Ms. Yang Li, the planning editor of Mo Yan's Story, to learn about the behind-the-scenes publication of Mo Yan's Story (Henan Literature and Art Publishing House, 20 12, 10).
Mo Yan was predicted to win the prize four years ago.
Hainan Weekly: Observing the generation of a kind of literature from a life experience is the unique advantage of the writing of The Story of Mo Yan, which is also the reason why it was well received as soon as it was published. What is the process of writing a book?
Yang Li: The new version of Mo Yan's biography that readers see now was originally one of the Biographies of Contemporary Writers in China published by Henan Literature and Art Publishing House in 2008. At the same time, Yu's biography (Luan) and Han Shaogong's biography (empty view) have also been published, and Zhang Wei's biography is also planned. The book was not published because the author failed to contribute. Four years ago, Xie Youshun, the editor-in-chief and famous critic of this series, predicted that Mo Yan would win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Four years later, this statement came true, and Mo Yan Review, which was carefully revised by Mo Yan himself, became the earliest version for readers to understand Mo Yan. This book tells readers how Mo Yan was tempered with a new look.
Hainan Weekly: To understand Mo Yan, it is not enough to look at Mo Yan's works, but also his life. Only by observing the generation of a literature from a life opportunity can we complete the deepest understanding and docking of a writer. However, readers don't know much about the biographer Ye Kai. How credible is Mo Yan's comments? Why did you choose him to preach for Mo Yan?
Yang Li: It should be said that Ye Kailai is the most suitable candidate for Mo Yan's biography. Ye Kai is a doctor of modern and contemporary literature in China, a senior editor of Harvest magazine and the responsible editor of Mo Yan's many works. Mo Yan first published some important novellas and novels. Outside of work, he and Mo Yan have a deep friendship. He has a deep understanding of Mo Yan's life, temperament and creation, and can "enter" Mo Yan well. More conveniently, his doctoral thesis is about Mo Yan, and he has a good foundation in Mo Yan's research and has done a lot of homework. What is particularly advantageous is that Ye Kai himself is also engaged in novel creation, and he is proficient in literary creation. Two novels have been published, 1 a collection of novels. In addition, he also visited many excellent works at home and abroad, and was good at appreciating and commenting on literary works. Therefore, leaves open is the best person to write The Story of Mo Yan.
Hainan Weekly: It is said that Xie Youshun, the editor-in-chief of this series, predicted that Mo Yan would win the Nobel Prize in Literature. Under what circumstances was this mentioned?
Yang Li: It's interesting to say. At that time, due to busy work, leaves open don't want to promise it. Xie Youshun told him at that time: "If Mo Yan wins the Nobel Prize, you are the top expert in Mo Yan's research, and no one can bypass you." In this way, he was dragged into the "thief boat". Unexpectedly, Xie Youshun became a "prophecy" in one sentence-this is really the most wonderful prophecy in the world. Leaves open in order to write this book, it took more than a year before and after, read through all Mo Yan's works and research materials about him, and made great efforts. It is extremely rare that this book was revised by Mo Yan himself before it was published in 2008. Mo Yan spent a lot of precious time during the extremely busy flights on all continents, criticizing some details of the book word by word, which made many fallacies in the book disappear. During the editing process, as the editor of the book, I also had phone calls and emails with Mo Yan. He personally sent more than 70 photos of his different life stages, including a photo of his cousin when he was 7 years old (the only photo of his childhood), a photo of him joining the army when he was 2 1 year old, a photo of him buying sesame oil in the market, a photo of him and his comrades-in-arms, and a photo taken by him and his mother for the film "Photo of Skiing in Hokkaido" ... These extremely precious photos were included in Mo Yan's story.
Therefore, this China's only comment on Mo Yan is not only illustrated, but also authoritative and credible. This paper comprehensively interprets the life and works of Mo Yan, the first writer in China who won the Nobel Prize in Literature, and reveals the secrets of Mo Yan's growth and writing. It is not only a dialogue with the writer's life and soul, but also a research monograph with unique findings.
Mo Yan personally revised Mo Yan's biography.
Hainan Weekly: The second edition of Mo Yan's story only lasted four days. Is this a publishing miracle?
Yang Li: Yes. It can be said that this is a publishing miracle that our society has never had for decades. On June 12, 1 1 7: 00 p.m, the news that Mo Yan got Nobel Prize in Literature came, and the whole country was excited. At 8 o'clock that night, I contacted the leaders of the club to discuss making a new edition of Mo Yan's Story the next day. That night, I also got in touch with the author, Ye Kai, and asked him to send me the words related to Mo Yan after the book was completed, so as to receive the new edition. American editors designed the cover overnight, and put Nobel Prize in Literature's logo, the first China writer who won the Nobel Prize and other information elements on the cover. The cover of the 2008 edition is academic, calm and heavy style; The cover of the new edition takes red as the background color, conveying the festive color that China people finally won the Nobel Prize. The black bold back cover tells readers: "This is the only critical biography of Mo Yan in China at present, which was revised by Mo Yan himself" to convey the convincing feeling of the book.
Mo Yan's novels are developed in two different time and space: one is cruel reality, which vividly shows the various aspects of current rural daily life, and its core themes are "hunger" and "injustice"; The other is the romantic world, which is pushed into the dark world seriously covered by official history with strong imagination. The key words are "vitality" and "humanity" The two vines spread apart, each bearing rich fruits, and gradually approached in mutual attraction. In Mo Yan's own words, they were intertwined in his novel Fatigue of Life and Death published in 2006 and successfully joined hands. At present, Hainan Book Fair has purchased Mo Yan's series of works, such as Frog, Mangrove, Fatigue of Life and Death, etc. And Mo Yan's story has naturally become the object of readers' pursuit.
