The role of materials and methods in English papers
The main task of scientific writing is to convey the information of researchers to the scientific community clearly and concisely. One is to publish scientific papers, and the other is to promote the progress of scientific and evidence-based decision-making. In the past few decades, scientific writing has formed a unified structure and style, with the same materials and methods, which need to be pursued: accuracy and detail. Materials and methods (hereinafter referred to as M&M) are the core of this paper. About 30% of the journal rejection is related to the M&M part. A well-written M&M helps the peer review process and increases the possibility of manuscript acceptance. At the same time, it also increases the possibility of incorporating the research results into the secondary analysis, systematic evaluation or meta-analysis of existing data.

In short, the "Materials and Methods" section provides scientists with clear, sufficient and detailed information to meet the evaluation criteria of readers and reviewers on the reliability of the survey, and inform them of the research procedures, design, data collection and evaluation methods. So, like all scientific investigations, we should abide by some standard writing rules.
