First of all, Xiang Yu, known as the "overlord of the West Chu", is a gentleman (this can be found in Sima Qian's Historical Records. Xiang Yu did not regard him as an emperor, but Sima Qian used the title of "Biography of Xiang Yu". Liu bang is just a clown. After the failure of the Hongmen banquet in Xiang Yu, he was lamented by his uncle as "a woman's benevolence". But in the end, Xiang Yu didn't listen to his advice, but let Liu Bang and others go in a gentleman's manner. When he was defeated, he couldn't help but sigh that the hero of his generation, who struggled to pull out the mountain and was born, actually fell into a situation of being besieged on all sides and fleeing in defeat, losing to a villain like Liu Bang and committing suicide.
Secondly, Yu Ji's death and the soldiers who followed her for many years were all killed in the Civil War. They had no interest in living in the world and threw themselves into the river.
Third, Xiang Yu was originally from Jiangdong. After crossing the Wujiang River, I went to my hometown. Thinking that he was defeated and returned to China, he had no words to face his hometown elders, so he committed suicide and refused to cross Jiangdong.
Finally, Xiang Yu may also think that if he is captured by Liu Bang, he will die of humiliation. As the saying goes, a scholar can be killed but not humiliated.
So in this case, suicide is the best choice for Xiang Yu.
(My humble opinion, the landlord can refer to it ~)—
