How to save yourself in case of flood?
The self-rescue methods in case of flood are as follows:

1. If it's too late to move, there's no need to panic. You can move to a high place (such as a solid roof or a big tree) and wait for rescuers to save you. At the same time, try to use some materials that are not afraid of being washed away by the flood, such as sandbags, stone piles, etc., to block the gap in the threshold of the house, reduce the influx of water, or hide on the roof to avoid water. If the house is not strong enough, make a wooden (bamboo) raft to escape, or climb a tree to take refuge. Try to bring some food and clothes before you leave home.

In order to prevent the flood from flooding into the house, first of all, we should plug all the gaps under the gate. It is best to put sandbags outside the threshold. Sandbags can be sacks, straw bags, cloth bags or plastic bags filled with sand, soil and gravel. If the flood water is expected to rise again, sandbags should also be piled outside the bottom window sill.

If the flood continues to rise, you should reserve some food, drinking water, warm clothes and appliances for boiling water upstairs.

If the flood is serious and the water level continues to rise, you must make a raft to escape. Anything floating in the water, such as bed boards, boxes, cabinets, door panels, etc. Can be used to make rafts. If you can't find the rope at the moment, you can tear the sheets instead.

Before climbing the raft, be sure to try whether the raft can float. Collecting food, signal equipment (such as whistles, flashlights, flags, bright sheets) and paddles are essential. Before going out to float, you should eat something and drink some hot drinks to strengthen your physical strength.

6. Before leaving home, turn off the gas valve, main switch of power supply, etc. If time permits, roll up valuables with blankets and store them in the cupboard upstairs. You'd better close the door when you go out, so as not to follow Shui Piao.

7. People who are washed away or fall into the water should first keep calm and try to catch the boards, boxes, wardrobes and other things floating in the water. If you are far from the shore and there are no other people or boats around, don't swim blindly to avoid exhaustion.
