Legal basis: People's Republic of China (PRC) Surveying and Mapping Law Article 22 The competent department of surveying and mapping geographic information of the people's government at or above the county level shall, jointly with the competent department of real estate registration of the people's government at the same level, strengthen the management of real estate surveying and mapping.

Surveying the ownership boundary line of land, above-ground buildings, structures and other attachments shall be carried out in accordance with the boundary points and boundary lines of the ownership boundary line determined by the people's governments at or above the county level or the relevant registration materials and drawings provided. Where the ownership boundary changes, the parties concerned shall make timely changes in surveying and mapping.
