Ningbo University is a newly-built local comprehensive university in the process of reform and opening up, which is jointly managed by the Ministry of Education, Zhejiang Province and Ningbo City. 1986, Ningbo University was founded by Bao Yugang, the world shipping king, and Deng Xiaoping personally wrote the name of the university. 1996 The former Ningbo University, Ningbo Normal University and Ningbo Branch of Zhejiang Fisheries College merged to form a new Ningbo University.
